This is a rejoinder to Yakubu Dogara, who was recently appointed as Chairman of the Board of the newly established National Credit Guarantee Company by the Tinubu government. Dogara, in a recent statement, claimed that Buhari destroyed naira through reckless monetary policies, including the printing of N22.7 trillion under the guise of “ways and means.” https://www.nairaland.com/8520797/buharis-printing-22.7trillion-destroyed-naira Has Dogara forgotten that the man he now works for advised Buhari to print more money, and Buhari did exactly that? Let's refresh everyone's memory in case we have forgotten. Tinubu to Buhari: Print more naira notes, suspend VATSource: https://punchng.com/tinubu-to-buhari-print-more-naira-notes-suspend-vat/

They are suddenly blaming and condemning Buhari for doing exactly what Tinubu advised him to do. Before you make any excuses for Tinubu, don’t forget, Tinubu knew that Buhari was printing a lot of money and supported him all the way to the end knowing the economy was being destroyed, even promised to continue from where he stopped. If you claim Tinubu didn’t know Buhari was printing money, here is an article back from January 2023 that detailed how much the Buhari government had printed: https://punchng.com/budget-deficit-rises-370-hits-n47tn-under-buhari Knowing Buhari was printing a lot of money, Tinubu supported Buhari all the way to the end, then “suddenly realized” Buhari destroyed the economy? |

Lol The man speaks from both sides of his mouth and defecates from both sides of his waist.. He supported Buhari on every issue as long as that meant that Buhari would hand over to him. Now that he has succeeded in "grabbing power and running with it", he has maximum power and doesn't seem to know what to do with it. The only thing in his mind is to tax, tax and tax.. Set awon "tax and spend" presidency .. Ndi Tax and Spend |

MadPolitician:I know jumping into the comments section without reading the main article and digest it will bring this kind of comment or when you have made up your mind not be objective. If you're in Nigeria during coronavirus and experienced what many Nigerians went through you will understand, many lost their job and their business. Should we now continue like that when we're no more in that situation. @OP. The only thing you and your co-travellers in ignorance have succeeded doing is to show that primordial hatred of others can indeed comprise intellect and the ability to do basic research to then render even educated folks illiterate. Tinubu made the valid and economically sound recommendation during COVID 19 while your messiah Obi and the Dubai-dweller Perennial Presidential candidate were silent and nowhere to be found. This is a policy that made sense to the extent nations adopted it as an emergency strategy to fight a fearful epidemic that plunged humanity into uncertainty over human and economic survival. Can you or your hero Obi argue economics with Tinubu you should be learning from yet always rushing to insult ? Shior. Keep shooting yourself in the foot letting hate and emotions dominate your life to keep you ignorant and backwards.

givedemwotowoto:Is there anything that Tinubu and APC stood for in the past that he has not changed? Is there anything he kicked against that he hasn’t done in the past two years? How much is petrol today under APC progreThieves ![]() Buhari’ll reduce petrol to N40/L —David-WestPetrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC January 19, 2015 The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70. On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price. But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”. It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel. https://www.thecable.ng/petrol-never-cost-n70-per-litre-says-apc/ |

There’s nothing wrong with printing more money as long as it serves its purpose. Economics textbooks claim money printing always leads to inflation but that’s outdated thinking. The developed world grew on money printing and speculation. That’s what fuels economic growth. They print huge sums, package them as bonds or TBs and sell them to companies that turn that capital into infrastructure and industries. |

Nigerian politician always take us for granted. They can gaslight us and lie keeping a straight face because they know Nigerians don't demand accountability. How could Dogara, who held a very key role, come out to disparage the same Buhari administration after the death of Buhari. That said, only fools believe that the current Tinubu's administration is not also printing notes, which we know the end game would be currency redenomination. There's no exornorating APC from the calamity that APC has 'cost' Nigerians. We better wake up |

The way people bring past articles and take it out of context is pretty disgusting and shows a pandemic of illiteracy. Just because you can read and write doesn't make you intelligent which has been proven with this pattern. If you go through the article well, it was during the pandemic. That gives you all the context you need. It was easily explained why he encouraged BUHARI to print more naira due to insufficient access to dollars because of covid lock down. Foreign trade was at an all time low. Countries do this a lot and then mop up the excess currency over time once the emergency is over. If you'll takle Dogara, tackle him with something more logical, not this. |

givedemwotowoto:During the height of COVID, countries took necessary measures to protect their citizens. Someone had to fund the palliatives while many were unemployed—you need to think this through. Using this hardship as propaganda weaponizes the people’s pain. Like naira scarcity, COVID-19 caused widespread hardship for all. |

MadPolitician:You people are always rushing to speak ignorantly to confirm the claim the black man does not like to read. There is no "speaking from both side of the mouth" from PBAT. Only your ignorance and the desperation to demarket and demonize PBAT, so Obi profits electorally, driving the desperate claim of you and OP. Tinubu made the valid and economically sound recommendation during COVID 19 while your messiah Obi and ans the Dubai dweller Perennial Presidential candidate were silent and nowhere to be found. This is a policy that made sense to the extent nations adopted it as an emergency strategy to fight a fearful epidemic that plunged humanity into uncertainty over human and economic survival. Tinubu did not ask Buhari to print money when Nigerians were back to work, factories, businesses and commercial activities of private/public sector back to normal. That was on Buhari and his 'inner crew' of Maman Daura, Malami, Emefiele and co. We were all alive to note this and even saw Tinubu bravely criticising some of Buhari's wrong decisions while Obi and Atiku were nowhere to be found. Yet you people now want to say PBAT instigated Buhari to print money amongst the million other things you accuse him of "forcing" Buhari to do just so you can attach him to Buhari's cabal-driven failure that did not include Tinubu. I don't like Obi, from a leadership viewpoint, but won't lie against him because I am not unprincipled and the sort to use anything, including dishonorable antics, to malign him. I don't need to. His many actually and proven failings are well-documented and plentiful. Yet I personally and passionately believe Karma, or whatever God a man serves, punishes those who lie and do evil against others deliberately. Keep it up against PBAT.
