https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzUU6iKFvnI?si=9Df0gyEQzCrec7EI Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that Nigerian engineers excelled during the construction of his refinery, performing better than their Indian counterparts. He added that 18 of them are now working as expatriates in Qatar, showcasing Nigeria’s engineering talent on the global stage. |

It's very disturbing that every talented Nigerian dreams of leaving this country to work elsewhere. No country ever grows like that. BTW, Qatar can never consider a Nigerian working in their country an expatriate. They call you an immigrant. The difference lies in where you come from and the opportunity your country offers you. |

SmartPolician:Yes we do grow like that. Those Qatar they are going to have the money to invest in modern infrastructure to build their societies and economies, and provide talented Nigerians leaving this country with the resource to practice and learn and bring back to develop Nigeria so we grow like that. It's not like Qatar is making them citizens, nor do talented Nigerians want to retire there. Nigerians are leaving Nigeria to go get paid their worth and gain more experience which they will bring back to help develop Nigeria, like that. |

...Why won't they when it's a private company but let them work for NNPC and see best as the worst. Qatar have laws, they shift, they are prosecuted,so they give their best but in Nigeria, you go hear na your father own am.. |

SmartPolician:Please stop that. All these countries recognise the Global Talents and respect them no matter what country they come from. If you knew what Global Talent is all about, you wouldn’t equate it to common immigrants who spend their life savings to sojourn in another country. |

Only a handful of employees go beyond bounds to deliver excellent results without being supervised or being compelled (either through penalty for failure or incentives for success). |

Wow good to hear it from Africa richest man....this dangote is talking too much this few months, wow definitely unlike him...but he said the truth because Nigerian engineers working with him understand that our country will benefit more from the refinery unlike the Indians that are working solely for money |

Indians are physically lazy people. Only those who work with them know. Book-wise, they learn, but are too rigid to deviate past the means they were taught in. Nigerians are physically tough and open to implementing shortcuts. We excel past the average Indian who gets frustrated from seeing us adapt and resorts to throwing insults our way. My job makes me proud to be black because advantages other races preach about over us are superficial. |

SmartPolician:What are you saying? Anyone whose travel was facilitated by a company in the host country for work purposes is called an expatriate. Una go just dey twist words to suite your personal agenda. Did they go of their own accord or did a company there sponsor their travel? SMH. Negativity always. |

SmartPolician:Have you asked him how much he’s paying his engineers Can you boast of a good life working for dangote? Would you rather work in dangote refineries or work for Total, Mobil or US companies? Check samaramco , and other Arab oil and gas companies and see how much they pay their staff and compare it to dangote if you won’t pass out from shock. The gap is too wide like distance between earth and the stars It’s not even close to being comparable…. So would you get a job in an Arab oil and gas company or Total and go to Dangote?? Africans are just greedy and would rather employ cheap labor, it’s their way… this money shaaa… He’s using those Nigerian engineers as cheap labor and those ones too are there temporarily for experience and would pack their load once better opportunities show |

dgitrader:I don't like defending Sir bello, but during his time, we didn't have enough qualified people for the kind of jobs that were needed That's why we had expats in Nigeria until as late as the 1980s. How bad were things were? As at 1960, Africa had 4000 secondary school graduates. Half of them were in Nigeria and Ghana. Sir Balewa even begged foreigners to stay because we hadn't enough people As for favuring foreigners over southerners, the university he established had more southerners than foreigner or northerners self. The civil war reduced igbo numbers, but after the war, southerners came back. ABU also used to be non discriminatory in its admissions policy under the man and for years after his death, until federal character happened. Of course Abu now has northerners a lot , but that's because more have been trained since the 1960s |
