Police arrest man for r3ping and impregnating his 16-year-old niece in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 53-year old man, Babawale Kolawole for allegedly engaging in incest and repeatedly s3xually abusing his 16-year-old niece.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, who disclosed in a statement said the victim reported the abuse to the police on September 13, 2025, alleging that her uncle subjected her to s3xual assault on a near-daily basis.

The incident occurred No. 12 Okeodunwo Street, Igbado, Ondo.

She further claimed that after each incident, the suspect wiped her private parts with a piece of cloth.

According to the PPRO, the suspect had allegedly facilitated the termination of the girl’s pregnancies on two occasions.

Following the report, the Gender-Based Offences Unit of the Command promptly intervened, leading to the suspect’s arrest and the processing of the case for prosecution.

Kolawole has since been arraigned before a competent court and remanded in custody, awaiting further trial.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights of women and children and vowed that perpetrators of such crimes would face the full force of the law.
