Nigeria Can Never Get It Right Until It Returns To Regional Federation. by Oldebo(op): 9:33pm On Sep 18, 2025
Only the way out of this mess in Nigeria is to return Nigeria to regional federation. All the past and the present president had done what they can, to get Nigeria into a real country but failed.
The history had proved the colonial master right for being setting Nigeria nation to regional federation before they left.
It was the Agoi Ironsi fault who truncated the regional federation into the state federation that plunged Nigeria into dilemma.
To get out from this we must return to regional federation.

Regionalism is dead and buried by Gowon when he divided the 4 regions to 12 states. Awolowo supported Gowon to divide the regions because he wanted to get Lagos State and also wanted to weaken the Eastern region so the East don't breakaway.

Now, its either states as it is or separation.

Regionalism is dead and buried forever. No state will like to be subsumed in a region except those thinking they will get Lagos that was built with Nigerian resources and that belongs to all Nigerians equally

Nigeria is already divided to 36 states. You can only restructure on the basis of states
