Trump Said To Impose $100K Fee On H-1B Visas by malali(op): 9:01pm On Sep 19, 2025
U.S. President Donald Trump plans to introduce a new $100,000 application fee for H-1B worker visas, according to a White House official, in an effort to reduce their use as part of his broader immigration crackdown.

The Republican president was expected to sign a proclamation as early as Friday restricting entry under the H-1B visa program unless the application fee is paid, the official said. Trump also planned to order changes to the prevailing-wage levels for the H-1B program as a way to limit their use.

The H-1B program has become critical for technology and staffing companies who rely on foreign workers to fill a variety of technical roles.
Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab had over 10,000 H-1B visas approved in 2025, while Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab and Meta Platforms (META.O), opens new tab had over 5,000 H-1B visa approvals each, according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Bloomberg News earlier reported Trump's intention to sign the order regarding H-1B visa applications.

Shares of Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp (CTSH.O), opens new tab, an IT services company that relies extensively on H-1B visa holders, fell over 5% on Friday.
Critics of the visas, including many American technology workers, argue companies use H-1B visa workers to suppress wages and pass over Americans for jobs they may otherwise be qualified for.
India was the largest beneficiary of H-1B visas last year, accounting for 71% of approved beneficiaries, while China was a distant second at 11.7%, according to government data.
The H-1B visa program is reserved for people who are employed in specialty occupations, frequently in the technology field. They can include software engineers, tech program managers and other IT professionals. The H-1B visas are approved for a period of three to six years.

Immigration laws and requirements change from Time to time based on the direction and needs of the host country. It's not unusual.

This guy will kuku finish American las las. I doubt if Trump won’t visit jail after the end of his tenure. The whole world is watching.

By the way, all these actions of his are indirectly giving out a blessing in disguise treatment of not to depend on the American dreams anymore, and this makes America influence over the world grow weaker day by day. With the likes of China, Russia, North Korea, Canada, France even India, etc are now calling his bluff. I can’t wait to see the fall of America under Trump, the destruction and fall of the US dollars.

He is trying to run America like a private business empire by turning everything into a money spinner without the other business partner gaining anything ... grin

He likes to rip off and it's funny because he came from a family of immigrants. He's married to an immigrant, has an ex-wife who's an immigrant. Yet he's mad at all immigrants undecided

Let’s wait and see. One thing will lead to another. I’ll bookmark this post of yours. It’s a simple illustration. Assuming you keep feeding me and my people everyday, one day you get tired saying you can’t feed us anymore. The next thing to do is to get angry with you until we look in to discover ourselves and find a means to sustain ourselves, we realize our power.

You will see all these policies of Trump will boomerang on the American government in future’s time. Time shall tell…

Trump has totally destroyed America. Americans are even regretting voting for him.
Nigerians think we are the only ones being barred from coming to America, but Trump is targeting almost everyone.

The interesting thing is that their economy is collapsing but he doesn't know it. A country that used to create between 250k and 300k jobs every month now created 22k jobs last month. All tourists are avoiding America and their tourism industry is shutting down.

While you all may hate this man, he’s done fantastically well on this one by protecting the interest of the indigenous labor force of the United States. He wants Americans to benefit from the companies operating in their country. And now that’s what I call a good leadership.

If other leaders act this way including Nigeria, the level of unemployment will be drastically reduced coupled with reduced unfair salary arrangement within our country’s labor market.

I love the way those country are checkmating US on both sides. Imagine if US had no opposition, the world will be burning more than what we have at the moment. US is just like a bull in a China’s shop.

That's because white people don't view themselves as "immigrants", it's only "nasty black and brown people and maybe some Chinese", that are "immigrants". Nobody bats an eye that wives of wealthy and corrupt Eastern Europeans give birth in USA, they're always screaming about Latino and African women doing the same. All the Russians that used to overstay their visa were left alone. Even White South Africans, nobody looks at them.

America is NOT overrated. Nigerians go to a country where they can get opportunities (good jobs). No country in this world has good paying jobs like America...not one!

There are some tech companies in America that pay their software engineers up to $500k per annum. No company will pay you that salary anywhere in the world.

America understands that research and innovation will keep them ahead. So, companies, government institutions and HNIs are ready to finance research to stay ahead. That's why everyone turns to America whenever there's a global problem and America has the world's best universities because no country in this world funds research like America. That's why they are attracting the most talented people from around the world.

They have successfully created a $30 trillion economy, the biggest in the world. China's economy is still about $19 trillion after all the noise that China will take over for decades now.

America is not overrated. The only problem that America has now is that they voted for the wrong president. I hope he doesn't finish in 4 years what they built for over 200 years. If Biden had run for that election, Trump knew he wouldn't have won.
Re: Trump Said To Impose $100K Fee On H-1B Visas by Baxilexi(m): 5:44am On Sep 20, 2025
If I understand Trump’s thought process, he is drastically reducing the ways and means by which USD leaves the US. As the C in C, it is highly commendable. Everyone would want a CEO that reduces cost of spending and increases profit.

Tech companies are earning big and want to pay less thereby increasing their network astronomically. They earn in America and should hire and pay American rate.

I sympathize with the migrants that want a slice of the cake, but as an administrator it’s a tough call.

Is he a migrant? Yes!
Has he invested heavily into America’s economy? Yes!
The problem with a lot of migrants is that they just want to bleed America- go there and export dollars, no integration, no loyalty to the country. This is causing problems from Europe to Australia, people come in, enforce their customs on prevailing laws, exploit the system and leave or create their own niche.

In Kemi’s words, the UK is not a hotel, it’s our home.

The big question is, why do you want to migrate?

PS. It comical how folks here pit China/Russia against the US, but would never relocate there. Countries that have nothing for the black man. I’d say this again, can someone tell me of 5 successful black men in China and Russia and the names of their companies.

America is trying to check unregulated immigration and secure their nation. Most especially the trend where France, the UK, Germany etc allowed massive Middle East inflows and they are already having problems with them. Left to Joe Biden and the Democrats, the US would very soon be overrun. Now if you have any ties with terrorism, deportation straight.
There is nothing unhealthy about that. Nigeria should work for the benefit of Nigerians. That way no one would long to leave the country for anywhere else.

Stop lies, what is collapsing America? Bro I'm a big lover of USA but Trump is making things hard for non-immigrant to get in, it'll affect me as well but all Trump is trying to do is to protect his country, if his country is destroyed by extremist they won't have another country while immigrants can always go back to their country.

H1 visa route is now unregulated? Do you know why some companies look outside America for skilled workers?

Your mindset and that of Trump belong to dark ages.
