Fault of the government bad policies that devalued the Naira ...The average price of a bag of cement has always been $7.50 and it hasn't changed , what has changed is the value of the Naira ..same thing with flight tickets , the average 1 hour flight in Nigeria has always been around 100 dollars and it's hasn't changed

Why didn't they think of coming together to build a refinery since, instead they prefer milking Nigerians through importation, sebi their eyes don clear now, no free money again.

Buhari’ll reduce petrol to N40/L —David-West

Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

Do Coca-Cola, Nigerian Breweries and Unilever start their business to lose? They all distribute their products themselves across Nigeria. It will be suicidal for any company to depend on another for distributing their product.

My point is more focused on the 'free delivery' part, it's more of a temporary fix, Dangote will increase his fuel price soon to cover up for loses after this excercise and so will fuel price go up again.

Infact its my prayer he monopolizes fuel distribution, what as Nupeng and Nnpc ever done for Nigeria that even meet common sense

Is it not collabo with the uselezz FG to suffer the masses every december, for decades they had sole distributorship what good did they do ..

they creat artificial scarcity, divert n resale subsidize fuel to neibouring countries
these clowns never for once reduce price on distribution cost

So why should any Sane person be bothered, what worse can dangote do that can pass what FG/NNpc/Nupeng collabo have suffered Nigerians

I think Dangote is playing a long game here.
Step1: Reliability. People relies heavily on his products because they are better and cheaper.
Step2: Frustrate competitors and put them out of business cos they can't match his price and his products.
Step3: Corner and monopolize the market.
Step4: Raise the price and make unbelievable profit.
I'm dropping this here so when it happens, I can say I told u so.

It's free market. That's the advantage of deregulation the APC administration put in place. You are free to refine your own fuel and sell at #70. Dangote can sell at any price he wishes and same with you if you build yours tomorrow. It's like the Glo versus MTN per second billing war of the 2000's
