The Beautiful City Of Aba, Is, Should Be The Pride Of Every Igbo Man by ariesbull(op): 7:07am On Sep 20, 2025
The foremost Igbo City known around the World especially African Countries that comes in there to buy the famous Aba Made items since the middle of the 1970s.

Aba remains the Igbo City that essentially rejuvenated the economy of Igbo land after the devastation and economic degradation that followed the genocide of 1967/70.

Aba, a sign post of Igbo tenacity, resilience and can do spirit. Men and women of this City alone contribute about 70% in building what is known Today as Imo Airport.

Its unfortunate that the bitter politics of politicians of Abia State especially on the opposing side has over the years hidden the good aspect of this beautiful peaceful City while highlighting the areas that needed Government attention and therefore portraying the beautiful commercial City only in bad light in their bid to snatch power from the ruling party, PDP.

You can not talk of the growth of this vibrant City without giving credence to Dee Sam Mbakwe who was former Governor of larger Imo State from where Abia state was created, Governor Orji Uzor Kalu the maverick Action Governor of Abia State who contributed immensely to building of the infrastructure, economic and social activities of Abia state and laid the foundation of the pictures you are seeing and then the present Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. These Governors Orji Kalu and Okezie Ikpeazu has faced a lot of lies and propagandas generated against them by opposition politicians championed mostly by the present Governor Elect, Alex Otti to discredit any effort they have made in his bid to become Abia State Governor.

We congratulate him and encourage him to ensure he perform better than his predecessors to give the state a better governance.

I was in Aba of recent, I was left speechless. Aba is the most underated city in the world. City is rising daily. 1 billion pictures cannot tell the story of Aba. I went to number 1 in Port Harcourt road, Ngwa road, Asa road and I realized that a mini Dubai was on the offing. In fact Dubai will be a child's play.

I saw a city that grew on a daily, hourly, minutely, per seconds basis. The giant has indeed awoken.

I will not make the mistake of comparing Aba with any Nigerian city,Aba is beyond Africa.

I beg my friends and brothers, if you don't know what to do with your funds , just go and buy landed property inside Aba's York street, port Harcourt road Asa road, Azikiwe road, okigwe road, MCC road and secure your future retirement.

I witnessed electricity supply so steady, it was almost in tandem with what you experience in Deira, Dubai

God bless Alex Otti.

Alex Otti is a confirmation that honest and dedicated leadership can change the story of a failed state or nation from shame to a state of glory and hope of a greater future.

Imagine if Peter Obi was allowed to fly after he won 2023 Presidential election, I am sure by now, Nigeria's story will be different from what it is today; the world will be wowed by our speed of economic recovery and infrastructural leap cry

I wished Nigerians can shun their pettiness and give Peter Obi a try and compare the outcome of his leadership with past leaderships in Nigeria after 2 years, I am sure what Nigerians will witness under Peter Obi's two-year leadership will make every Nigerian weep for not giving him a chance long time ago and instead allowed known kleptomaniacs and political bandits to get hold of our dear nation's collective resources which they corner for their personal gains and family's flamboyant lifestyle cry

The entire SE are not as developed as Ibadan.

Take your time and travel to Ibadan which is the size of about 3 states in SE combined together

There's not enough greenery and too much concrete!

I hope the first pic is old. If not, the owner of that tall building should be instructed to either complete it or sell it to the state gov't or a investor as it's defacing the landscape of the city and is a security and safety hazard!

I have traveled through Ibadan, Lagos, and indeed all 36 states of Nigeria, yet Aba stands apart. Entrepreneurship in Aba operates on a different scale unmatched, unrivaled,,nothing in Nigeria matches Aba energy. Aba is not just a normal city or town; it is the epicenter of enterprise in Africa. In fact, the only product I did not see being assembled by the roadside was a full blown automobile.

Lols, what's your definition of beauty, snap and picture from far distance and call it beautiful. Aba is far from beautiful, go to Enugu and see what it means to be beautiful. Nsukka ranks higher in serenity than Aba.

Aba is improving, neat and beautiful in some parts, however a lot more still needs to be done!

I Was surprised when I was told that if we're caught throwing wraps of sweets, biscuit or empty soda bottles by the road side , I will be arrested, prosecuted and charged, the cities energy is on another scale. I walked into an Aba canteen, paid just N700 for a meal, and the portion was so generous I couldn’t even finish it.
I ate in an upscale restaurant and with N 20k I gave some friends a outing, I saw cubana has set up a new club in Ekenna rd/st and night life is gradually coming back to Aba. I am really impressed and awed.

Chai! I pity the seller. That's why some people will never make it in life. A plate of food that Hilda Baci sells for 17k is what she sells N800 and you are hailing her for it. Tomorrow, when she will be old, the same people who kept her poor will be wondering what she did with her life when she was young.

That's why I prefer southern Nigeria to northern Nigeria, not matter how cheap things are in the north. Money needs to be flowing in every city so that people can lead a decent life. We need to stop glorifying poverty. Everyone deserves to live a decent life from what they do.
