Ga Traditional Council Raises Alarm Over Igbo Day Event In Ghana by Slytiger(op): 2:33pm On Sep 20, 2025
The Ga Traditional Council has raised alarm over a planned event titled “2025 Igbo Day in Ghana/New Yam Festival” scheduled for Sunday, 21st September 2025, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park.

According to the Council, the event, organized by Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, could disturb peace and security within the Ga State.

Referring to a previous press release issued on 9th July 2025, the Council reminded the public that the said individual had already been cautioned against holding traditional and cultural festivities under the guise of importing Igbo culture into Ga land.

HRM King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II has requested immediate intervention to halt the event and maintain order within the Ga State.

What is the matter with Ghanaians?
Is this inferiority complex or what?
Or are they gradually becoming the new South Africans?

What is wrong with Igbos celebrating new yams' festival in Ghana?
This has become bullying.

They should bear in mind that their people are also here in Nigeria freely.

It's their land so they can determine who can do what. I believe Ga's also have New Yam festival and they do not wish for a duplicate one.

If some Ndigbo don't like it, of course they are free to leave Ghana or go and celebrate New Yam festival elsewhere.

Also, their people here are doing their things in the manner that the locals are ok with.

This Eze Ndigbo of Accra guy has now added Doctor and Ambassador to his name and still wearing crown.

There is nothing wrong with Nigerians celebrating new yams' festival in Ghana or anywhere else in the world.

Hopefully, they're okay with it when the same treatment is meted out to their people in Nigeria.

All related events should have been suspended for now. Can't some people just learn simple things?

Where there is law , there is sin
Where there is no law, there is no sin

The timing is the issue considering what just happened that involved the acclaimed Igbo king of Ghana. That issue is yet to die down. Some Nigerians shops in Ghana was locked up just some days ago

See me.Show off.I dey here.Chest beating...
Call it any name and it is always done seemingly-negative to their hosts.
It is definitely in the DNA and there is nothing anybody can do about it.
I don't know why you can't do your thing without going on top of the roof to shout it to everyone.
Your fellow Yoruba people are all over the world, they don't indulge in this kind of stupidity that goes against their hosts.

If they don't want Nigerians (and we both know this is an Ndigbo thing) breathing in their land, it is their choice. Respect local people and their ways.

Their people here, just like Ndi Yoruba in Ghana, seem to be able to exist without seemingly causing offence to the locals.

Will they sacrifice humans (Ghanaians)

But there are Igbo days in England, the US, Germany and other Western countries without these noises.

Insecurity is a sign of emptiness and cowardice.

If I am in a foreign land and they are kind enough to tell me they don't want me, I will vamoose immediately.

Why should I die ontop anoda persin land.

Besides, unlike some disrespectful people, on occasions I have been away from my homeland, I have ensured I don't do anything to make the locals consider me an unrepetant nuisance.

Yrubas should have better things to think about than expending so much effort on an Igbo man living his life in Ghana

And did they ?

You people should stop this madness.

Every land in Africa has its sacred cultures , traditions and rites which the indigenes uphold and practice.

Take your own back to your land and stop desecrating other peoples land.

Can you openly do this new yam festival in Kano complete with masquerades without Hisbah throwing you into Hisbah jail?
