The houses has always been rented snd taxes has always been paid as at when due, you can verify on zillow and the link I posted initially has the name of the tenant for two of those properties, besides are you just pretending or you expect a man that has worked for over 20 years to be poor? This is one of the reasons why the likes of Reno,and co find it near impossible to take on Sowore. The guy has their blokos in check. Any retort in the name of fighting for their principal as they do against Obi will be met with very untoward savagery and expose.

I have been a passerby on Nairaland for some time but I decided to register formally today to assist in my little way in rectifying the psyche of the bulk of the Nigerian population based on comments that have made me cringe uncontrollably over the years.

I do not know Sowore personally but I can say that he is a patriot. I can also say that Nigerians are a deeply weird people, all of us. Imagine an unthinkable case scenario in which the victim of a rape is the defence lawyer of her rapist. Just read some of the comments.

Most of the commenters defending their oppressors beg to survive on a daily basis. What I suggest going forward is that we stop helping each other until we all get serious. When someone begs you for funds, say no. Imagine giving your funds to one of them?

Nonetheless, I appreciate that a lot of people are calling out that in which is wrong, well done to you.

where's your proof that the source of funds are stolen funds? So because he is a public official, he shouldn't go into other businesses? Are you aware that wike has farms and companies he started before he became governor? Are you aware that one of wikes company got multi million dollar contract in the $10b NLNG train 7 project even though buhari who was the head huncho then was never in good terms with him? So wike can't buy landed propertirs in Nigeria and flip them when they appreciate to buy real estate in other jurisdiction because he's a public servant? How much was the cumulative sum of the 3 properties in naira in 2011? You really expect him to be poor because you hate him? Do you know who wikes father in law is?

2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury

Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.

One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

i missed the date BTW. Let me help you a bit with the constitution.
Section 7 of the Code of Conduct Bureau & Tribunal Act (Act Cap 56, Laws of Federation of Nigeria 1990), public officers are required to declare all assets, income, and liabilities. This includes bank accounts.
DECLARE, it doesn't say don't own. And there's nothing Sowore has shown to prove that Wike owns an account abroad or not.
The law prohibits a public officer from operating a bank account outside Nigeria while in office, unless approved or declared.
i have never heard of not owning properties abroad. Kindly share what part of the constitution that is stated.
i am curious, what is Wike's salary and that of the wife. Or we are just assuming? Are public servants under some vow of poverty that i am unaware of?
