He wants US companies to employ US citizens 1st and if they want to employ foreigners they have to pay more indirectly cos the foreigner will pay more for his work visa and if he's being sponsored then the company pays for his visa.

It's a strategic policy not out of malice.

Indians shouldn't come and take US high paying jobs for free.

The US is shooting itself in the foot here. At a time when China and India are positioning themselves to dominate, the US decides to shut the door on the large pool of talent it needs to stay competitive. Anyways, that's their loss.

Americans are crying that the immigrants are taking their jobs, the immigrants with MSc and PhD with post Doc , in IT, Quantum physics, Cybersecurity, Data Science and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, and Web and Mobile App Development, etc, taking the job of lazy and uneducated Americans. How does that resonance? Average Americans are lacking in problem solving skills, critical thinking, to add it up, they are lacking in Mathematical skill. Yet they're crying that immigrants are taking their jobs. The America companies employ base on merits.

By the time Donald Trump is done dealing with America, every reasonable investor in America will pull their businesses out of the country.

It has already started happening, but the guy is too blind to see it. A country that used to create over 300k jobs every month is now creating 22k jobs. Donald Trump is America's nemesis.

Exactly. Stay in your country and grow it to becoming powerful and prosperous. Then you will become useful to yourself and useful to America.

I think Trump wants a more prosperous and diverse world. A world where a Ukraine is able to defend itself, where Europe is able to chart its own course without depending on US might. Where a Nigeria is able to care for its people's health, education and prosperity.

Because when you are prosperous you are ble to trade properly with the US and prosper the U S even more.

I think folks in the US are beginning to see the limitations of a unipolar world where it has led for so long, sucked so much virtue from other nations that the world has become unfertile to its ideals, it has started to rot from within.

It is the same destructive principle of monopolies in economies. One becomes too big at the expense of others, feeding off them. When the others die off the monopolist starves itself to death.

That you do not know how it affects Nigerians is not a problem but try and see it from others' perspective.

About half of my graduating class travelled abroad with this visa. I'm working and grinding everyday for this visa. That you only know the education route doesn't mean a large number of Nigerians are not affected by this.

It doesn't matter who it's targeted at, this decision has real consequences on us. One of the most disheartening things is coming online to see people with little knowledge of a subject being the loudest.

Excellent move. Let every country develop their economics. US should give priority to US workers. I love what Trump is doing, in the long term countries will be forced to focus on internal development as the option of 'running to America' will no longer be viable
