KennethMichael1:From your description, it sounds like your vehicle may be experiencing an intermittent fuel delivery or electrical issue, not just a fuel pump problem. Since the car goes off after a few minutes of driving, especially after being submerged in water, here are the most likely causes: 1. Fuel System Contamination: Mud or water might have entered the fuel lines or tank, causing blockages or damage to the fuel filter and injectors. Replacing the fuel pump alone may not fix this. 2. Electrical Issues: Water can cause damage to sensors (like the crankshaft position sensor, camshaft sensor, or fuel pump relay) or wiring, leading to the engine cutting off. 3. Ignition System Damage: If water entered the ignition components (coils, spark plugs, distributor), it could cause the car to stall intermittently. 4. ECU / Sensor Malfunction: Sometimes water exposure can affect the engine control unit or key sensors, causing stalling issues. Recommended Action: • Get a thorough inspection of the fuel lines, fuel filter, and injectors. • Check all engine sensors and relays, especially those linked to fuel delivery and ignition. • Inspect for wiring damage from water exposure. Given the repeated stalling after water exposure, we strongly recommend bringing the car to a professional for full diagnostics. This is not something that can be reliably fixed by just changing the fuel pump. At Ryan Automotive Limited, we can run a complete engine diagnostic and fuel system check to pinpoint the exact issue and fix it permanently.
