On what basis or what parameters were these stats derived from. Cox I am very sure, Nigeria has no accurate database of its citizens. We only assume.
Nevertheless, I am happy to see Nigeria in the list even if I don't trust the estimates

Other countries look for interpreters when they move around the world
The Hausa language isn't peculiar to Nigeria alone.

Lots of other African countries speak Hausa.

Only Yoruba is the indigenous Nigerian language there.

1] Hausa language... Nigeria, Niger Republic, Ghana, Sudan, etc. A little over 50 percent of Niger Republic's indigenous population are Hausas extending right into Northern Nigeria where the largest number of indigenous Hausas on Earth exist.


2] Yoruba language... Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, etc. The population of native speakers of Yoruba language worldwide is definitely a little more than the estimated 51 million population reported here though.

The Hausa folks or native speakers are indeed large in population due to high birth rates and this is even why the BBC, VOA, Radio DW, Radio France Internationale, etc, deemed it necessarily to have dedicated Hausa language radio programs on Short Wave Radio several decades ago being beamed worldwide from Europe and North America.
