A legal practitioner and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has said that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, risks having his constitutionally guaranteed four-year tenure cut short by six months if he leaves office on May 29, 2027.

Re: Fubara Should Seek Legal Redress, Over Lost Six Months – Okonkwo (Video) by SmartPolician:
Fubara lacks the balls to challenge his suspension. Even the PDP that took the matter to Supreme Court has been silent on it. That party has proven to be the most úseless party in Nigeria.

They have started again; the man has said he doesn't want to be led to the slaughter like before, leave him alone!

Legal practitioner indeed, sorry for the person that will visit his chamber for consultation, this man thinks that it is Clarence Peters that is directing the Nollywood movie?

Nobody will leave Fubara alone. The right thing must be done. If the right thing isn't done, another mvmú president will suspend a governor in the future and let strangers from other states loot the resources of the state with reckless abandon.

The serpents have started rearing their heads again.. Fubara should ignore the opinionated nincompoops and face governance in Rivers State. He owes PBAT gratitude for restoring calm to Rivers through the decisive State of Emergency declaration.

You're just making empty and uncouth noise as usual. The State of emergency was justified and in order.

Okonkwo is just a rabble rousers and bigot. That much has become clear regarding his conduct since swapping Nollywood for partisan politics.

Fubara is not entirely senseless to follow the misguided and mischief-making advice of Okonkwo etal who do not wish him or his political interest well.

The matter is over and Fubara would be advised to learn lessons and move on to face the task of uplifting Rivers State with focus and diligent work. Subsequent to doing that, he will do well in politics and go on to bigger and better.

Especially if he continues to ignore the opinion of those who only know how to play politics of bitterness, division, toxicity and enmity.

Black people no dey ever get sénse; everything na partisanship. Well, it's up to Fubara to do the needful; ask that his 6 months be given to him because no constitution gave Tinubu the right to suspend an elected governor.

In states where people were massacred Escobar didn't declare SoE. In Rivers State where nobody died, he declared an SoE, giving room for strangers to stéal their resources. Just because he didn't want to call Wike to order.

Either way, my biggest concern is Escobar setting a precedence that will be applied to other states in the future.

These people should leave Fubara alone. You're not from Rivers state. He said he's at peace with Wike and everything is fine.
Re: Fubara Should Seek Legal Redress, Over Lost Six Months – Okonkwo (Video) by emkz: 5:43am On Sep 23, 2025
Governor Sim, please ignore.

Do your tenure, work peacefully and ignore troublemakers. Remember what we told you. In January 2024. It took one year and a six-month suspension for it to resonate:

emkz:
Dear Governor Sim Fubara,

The editorial stance of Arise News is for you to assert yourself as Governor of Rivers State.

Note that Arise News is anti-Wike and will support and promote every controversy that would undermine Wike.

For many weeks, the Arise Morning Show, especially Rufai Oseni, have been baying for blood in Rivers State. They have been beating the drums of war as if to conflagrate the crises in Rivers State. He has done it again this morning on their show by asking you to tell us what you have up your sleeves. As a political tactician, you do not disclose your strategy, and do not fall for that bait to talk to amplify the crisis.

Governor Sim Fubara, do not allow Rufai Oseni mislead you to fight Wike. If you fight Wike, it is Rivers people who would suffer and your administration would not have a headway while Rufai Oseni and Arise News gloats for scoring a cheap point against Nyesom Wike. You seem like a man who doesn't want trouble. Stay on that lane. Learn to manage Wike and work to deliver for Rivers people. Avoid naysayers like Arise News, Dele Momodu and other emergency friends who were not there with you when Wike was slaving for your election. They did not support Wike then and by extension, could not have supported you. Their sudden support for you now and beating the drums of war is suspicious. They cannot claim to know the relationship between you and Wike better than the two of you. You know how you and Nyesom Wike started. Maintain a good relationship with him. You don't need to fight like a rabid dog to assert yourself as a governor, because you do not need to prove that you are a governor. You are the governor. Those of us who want peace in Rivers State do not see you as a weakling.

Please also ask your appointees to refrain from granting press interviews to discuss the crises. If they must grant press interviews, let them promote your agenda and talk about your projects for the Rivers people. That is how you win fights.

PLEASE avoid Rufai Oseni's tantrums. He benefits from controversies.

Do not allow him or Arise News mislead you. If they were so good with PR, how come their PR stunts could not help Atiku Abubakar win elections and save Godwin Emefiele? Anyone who encourages you to fight Wike and put Rivers State in the news for wrong reasons doesn't like you and want you to fail to prove their influence over you.

Do not fall for it.

The bolded in your post applies to you directly. This is because what you perceive as "precedence" others view as the right solution to an intractable situation that was escalating and getting out of hand. No more, no less.
