I laugh at people who kill their vital organs with alcohol and smoking. Doctors are not available in Nigeria. Take your healthcare seriously
And bad diets too.

Some people will still blame this young man for saying the truth.
If everyone speak up many things could have changed in this country.
Nobody wants to speak because of certain reasons known to them.

some of our healthcare workers are very corrupt
Some us do not until we are there that is when we will know

Okay, so we speak, and we remove all the corrupt people, and all the corruption. I fully agree with you by the way.

But that leaves us with a scanty healthcare budget of 2 billion dollars for 230 million people. How do we fix that? It is the solutions you people don't like to discuss.

Even the UK he is talking about have its challenges you will see British complaining about the NHS, poor services and even no available doctors about 60% of the health care workers in the UK are foreigners, even in the USA health care is not cheap and very expensive that it can bankrupt you but their service will still be better than Nigeria though because they have better experts and technology but my point is there is no place without its challenges.

Let's be realistic in this country Nigeria can not have health care on par with those places. Do you know how much investment and budget go into health care in UK and USA ? It is more than our national budget and even with that most health workers in UK are foreigners and a lot in the USA too and it is still very expensive and sometimes poor service and you know how much taxes they pay to be able to get that ? Nigeria can never match that even if we put all our budget on health care.

If this Cubana Chief Priest is as rich as he bragged about he should have a personal doctor with high expertise.
What about China? I have been to their hospitals several times and was treated almost immediately i stepped in. What about Ghana or say Botswana? You guys are simply unbelievable. Always making excuses to support the status quo.

Every time, someone is busy giving examples of nations that sell Petroleum products at higher costs than Nigeria or countries that struggle with electricity supply or other countries with bad roads. What about countries that sell their Petroleum products cheap? Some countries lije Qatar basically charge almost nothing for electricity! Why not use those as examples too?

There are still good healthcare providers in Nigeria.
St' Nicholas hospital in Lagos, Cedar in Abuja, Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital Kano etc are some of the hospitals whose services matched others around the globe.

Billionaire, my foot!

What's the big deal in waiting for an hour to see a doctor for malaria treatment. So he thought he can just get to a hospital and walk straight to the doctor for consultation.
If your case isn't emergency, you need to wait for your turn. There are others too waiting to see a doctor, our problem in this part of the world is the "big man syndrome", behaving as if others on the waiting list to see doctor don't matter.

Want a better health care system?

You have too agree that we can't have a good healthcare system. Not on this Budget

Many of you want UK levels of healthcare. UK spends 176 bn pounds on health. Our budget for this year is 14 billion pounds

We got to fight corruption, tax the 70 % of Nigerians that don't pay tax and also diversify the economy so that we can attract trillions of naira in the hundreds of trillions so that we can have budgets that make sense

Or we increase hospital fees
The problem is not about taxing. Problem is doctors are no longer available. Most quality doctors in Nigeria have left the country due to poor government policies. Let the government do what is right to retain it's doctors.
What you've seen is just a tip of the iceberg. In the coming years, the way the situation with our doctors would get worse would shock everyone. I know a lot of doctors who had left this month alone. A lot of medical interns fresh from medical school have already taken foreign exams and just waiting to complete their house job and nysc to finally leave. What's coming to the health sector in few years would shock you all

This is what they mean by "Nigeria happening to you"

You could have billions in the account but by the time they make arrangements for air ambulance to ferry you to UK for treatment, it will be too late. Then your wife's new boyfriend will be the beneficiary of all the luxury. I could be wrong but i think Tinubu lost one of his sons that way. Did they learn any lessons?

You guys are just delusional, China is almost on par with the USA in economy and technology and their health budget is 1.27 trillion dollars, China health budget alone will buy Nigeria 5 times and still collect change, is that what you want to compare Nigeria to?

The Ghana and Bostwana you talking about how good can their health system be their budget is not that much but they are not as populous as Nigeria with 230million people.

Qatar you are talking about is a very small country with small population that is very rich their health budget is also at least 30% of our national budget

So,why did he not complain before them?
There are other things/ Infrastructures that needs urgent attention too,for example Some Specific Roads.

They only call the system a joke when they are directly affected else the system works perfectly for them!

You had audience with top leaders and even the president; maybe you can use your access to speak about better health care and not grinning like a Cheshire cat.

NO TOXIGIDY ...Cheers

He should watch his weight and size!

He may be at risk of Coronary Heart Disease
For him to seek medical care in a hospital shows he’s health conscious. Others would have patronised their local drug stores or herbalists, and then come to the hospital as last resort.

Moreover, with what he posted, it means Doctors are now scarce, otherwise a hospital in Ikoyi should be paying well to attract doctors

SmartPolician:
I thought Hope Uzodinma appointed CCP his aide on social media. Why can't he advise his boss to build a world-class hospital in his state?

Every second, they run off overseas to treat malaria and typhoid because they think they can afford it. They obviously learnt nothing from the COVID-19 lockdown.
Some comments here expose the mentality of some Nigerians.
You clearly pointed out he’s SSA on Social Media, and you think he can influence Health ministry in his state?
Moreover, the problem is not in building hospitals. It should be in equipping existing ones and employing healthcare workers and paying them very well.
You don’t need to build 6 or 10 storey buildings as hospitals without equipping them well

Who knows, maybe their former Governor might have built such hospitals (Buildings)

What Chief Priest did here is a wake-up call for the government. He’s using his platform to speak up for Nigerians

What stops you from going to general hospital
