Applicants Groan As Server Glitch Mar Nigeria Custom Pre-Test Exam by InfoGuru118(op): 8:27am On Sep 23, 2025
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Monday, September 22, 2025, commenced its scheduled Pre-Test exercise for applicants shortlisted under the Superintendent cadre recruitment, but the process was disrupted by server errors, News360 Nigeria reports.

The exercise, which was fixed for 3:00 p.m., was designed to help candidates familiarise themselves with the system ahead of the main computer-based test (CBT). However, several applicants reported difficulty accessing the platform due to technical hitches.

In its earlier statement on X, the NCS explained that a dedicated link would be sent to all shortlisted applicants, requiring them to complete their log-in procedures and undergo facial verification before starting the exercise. Candidates were also instructed to read guidelines 30 minutes prior and to click the START button once the allotted time elapsed.

But with the server failure, many participants could not proceed, raising concerns over the smooth conduct of the recruitment process.

The NCS had recently disclosed that 286,697 candidates were invited for the CBT across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant cadres, competing for only 3,927 available slots.

The Service also clarified that applicants under the Superintendent Cadre (Level cool would still participate in another CBT at the next phase of recruitment.

The Service is yet to issue an official statement addressing the technical challenges that marred Monday’s Pre-Test.

Applicants, meanwhile, have expressed frustration and await fresh directives from the authorities.

This is what happens when a society rewards incompetence. You start seeing systemic failures everywhere. Some of these failures in areas like security or healthcare will unfortunately lead to unnecessary loss of lives, and every supporter of incompetence is responsible for such losses.

Not enough bandwidth no load balancers... Too bad o. They couldn't use good server resources to host something as national as this. Shame shame shame. I bet it was hosted on a shared hosting server instead of a VPS grin grin

Just imagine how many millions of people on bet9ja and betking website every second of the day yet you can never hear of any sort of glitches then in an exam of about 1000 candidates custom's website is having glitches. This also happens on NYSC website. Funny thing is that they will budget billions of naira for this sham website yet they won't do the right thing.

NIGERIA IS CURED... Nothing you wan tell me.

Bro, Nigeria can comfortably migrate to cbt, the problem is corruption. These people will budget billions for this cbt and still end up looting the funds and do rubbish. Do you know how many millions of people on bet9ja website every second and you cant hear any glitch? Politicians know what they are doing

Can't they host on AWS? It's time someone invested heavily in giant Data centers and cloud infrastructures in this country they will make lots of money because even the government will use it. Imagine a whole federal government can't set up an ordinary server properly with all that resources at their disposal 🤦 it's shameful

My brother I tire oo probably they don't want to hire a professional to do the job.

AWS was what is needed here and not just a mere server that can't source a heavy data pre test

if fintech apps can run smoothly and seamlessly with such volume of transactions daily, federal government should be doing better abeg. I'm not sure whether those fintechs are hosted on cloud or they have their own infra
