One of the major drivers of this is the fact that we no longer need to import refined petroleum products. That alone will save the country billions of usd and has already reduced the pressure on the naira.
Did you bother to check, and you got your facts we aint still importing pms.

Borrowing is not a bad thing....borrow to invest to make profit is not a bad, borrowing long term loan with low interest is not a bad thing
Has tinubu borrowed to invest and to make profit?

If you say yes, what did he invest in and what is the profit from the investment?

Are you one of his mates that are cashing out?

How much have you cashed out?

Section 14(2b) of the Nigerian constitution says that "the security and welfare of the people is the PRIMARY PURPOSE of government".

Which means that everything government does and should do, should result in improved security and welfare for the people of Nigeria.

So how has soaring forex reserves resulted in improved security and welfare of the people of Nigeria?

Maybe lots of hateful obedients among the mods. They hate to read any positive news about Nigeria but would rather prefer to read" Foreign Reserves Depleted to 25 Years Low. Only $20B "

Good news but how come the masses are not feeling all these gains?
Yes, there is still hardship in the land and all these positive news coming out may mean nothing to the majority of the people but it is a progressive step to a positive impact. These government policies will only make positive impact until Nigeria achieve single digit inflation rate and double digits Gdp.

I will always for Mr president to always excel in all his endeavors to make Nigeria a great place.
I pray for my country to achieve greatness so that people can live in peace, plenty and comfort....

Since you understand basic economics, what is there to celebrate about increased forex reserve if tinubu is still on a borrowing spree?
When you don't know what people are talking about be humble
Don't pretend to know what you Don't with strong head

If you hear that Zenith Bank has 10 billion in reserves and That Mr A owns Zenith Bank that does not mean Mr A owns the reserves or that he can spend them. It means people think their money is safe in Zenith Bank

The reserves belong to the Central Bank as assets, the Central Bank has liabilities too
The Naira is a CBN liability just like a bank statement with Zenith Bank
The reserves belong to you and any other person that has Naira

Naira is merely evidence that you have something of value with the Central Bank

If you go abroad and want to spend your Naira you draw on the reserves

If the CBN has no reserves the Naira is just paper
Which is what happened when Buhari was printing all that money and why the Naira crashed

You need to read and understand before responding."We no longer need to"
Any fuel still being imported is because of vested interests. The functioning local refinery is producing enough to meet our needs, they are even exporting the excess. The government should stop issuing import licences and instead encourage other private players to build their own refineries so Dangote won't be a monopoly

Buhari’ll reduce petrol to N40/L —David-West

FORMER Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Prof. Tamunoemi David-West, said that Nigerians should expect sharp drop in petrol price from the current N87 to about N40 per litre, saying, “the president-elect, Gen. Mohammed Buhari, will reduce the fuel pump price to N40 per litre.”

Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

January 19, 2015

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

Not everyone will benefit at the same time. Some are investing right now and making huge returns. What you put in will determine what you get out.
If you've invested nothing don't expect too much.
