Did you recently get one? Just curious as to whether or not this policy is in full effect. I learned some folks are still getting

Its 3 months single entry for kon immigrant visas
I seriously doubt anybody is getting multiple entry with a Nigerian passport when it has been updated on travel.state.gov

For Onile, I’ll advise you to calm down. I remember you very well from the UK thread. You know the consequences of submitting a badly cooked and junkly baked application. I thought you submitted a complaint or was it an appeal about your uk refusal. Have you given up on that one and now chasing Yankee visa?

I feel it’s criminal for someone to pay for visa fee and only then do you see that the earliest date in Lagos (as of today) is October.

If people could see the dates, half of the applicants would do a double take and not proceed. This is wild sh*t to be honest.

If you are yet to pay, select Abuja. You can get dates there in October, next month.

@Que

I feel your concern but i wont label it as criminal because that is the only avenue the U.S government can use in protecting you and i and our families from the plans of the evil perpetrators.

Apart from security issues, USA is still in the top-5 countries of the world that almost everyone wanted to visit, hence you will voluntarily clap your hands for the consular officers if you are opportuned to get the figure of how many applicants they attend to in one hour not to talk of in 1-week. That is why you will see the interviewing officers interchanging during your interviews.

Also go and do your research, presently the United States must be in Top 1 to 5 of the countries with the most hated and targeted by aggressive enemies , ipso facto, there is pressure on the U.S. government in the area of security for their citizens and others and as it stands, because of the USA advanced technologies, the major avenue anyone can luckily harm them is by stepping foot inside the country.

Can you now see just a few summary of why the U.S. embassies worldwide are using visa appointment delay in reducing work-load on their staffs and in doing background checks on criminals ?

As per any genuine traveler, you can always apply for Emergency Visa Appointment if you qualify regardless of your appointment date. 👍

Hello everyone.

My Account has been showing USER INACTIVE.
My verification link expired before I got to see it, and I have been unable to access the account.

I had previously gotten my F1 visa approved through this same account a few years back, and later another visa category application, for which I didn't attend the interview. So, that makes two.

I need to get a visa to the U.S soon, and I have tried all sorts of things to get a new verification link. I have sent emails to nigeria@usvisaappt.com, I have reset my password many times, and even used the chat button on the website, all to no avail.

Since April!!

Has anyone been in this situation before? How did you resolve it, please? I really urgently need this account because I am meant to travel soon.

Thank you, and God bless.

Hello.

AVITS amentum was introduced in the year 2024 , so if you say you have used the account or profile in securing your visa few years back then you are definitely writing about old profile.

You may elaborate by sending the screenshot of the page you are writing about. But i will recommend you open a new avits profile if the issue persist. Your profile can always be merged on request. 👍

Thank you very much for your reply. I am referring to the new website actually. I created a new account with my email in April, and I did not notice that I got the verification link because it went to spam. I only noticed the link after one week, and I could not verify that account because the link already expired. So, I got stuck. Here is a screenshot of what I was talking about

Send email to the embassy via your registered email which you used when opening the profile. Follow the attached instructions very well and choose the post where you applied last ie Lagos or Abuja.

Be certain to copy avits amentum in the email

CC: nigeria@usvisaappt.com

Thats the only solution, otherwise you will have to open a new profile.

Yes more than 15 times.

But having been to the U.S or being a U.S PR or a citizen does not make you an expert in the processing of the USA visas.

USA visa processing /Consulting job is like a Phd in which you must have the love for education, teaching and research in order to survive and excel.

■ The above 👆 pathway is my path, so it's not about living in America. Interestingly, I know three experts (visa attorney, professor of history and a political scientist) who have guided thousands on U.S visas with 85% success rate but have never themselves set feet in America (by choice).

Good evening.
Please, what do I need to take with me to the embassy for my visa interview?
It is a sponsored trip, so the person I'm visiting will pay for the trip.
Apart from my appointment confirmation letter, passport, and a regular passport, what else do I need to present? Do I need my bank statements?
@efetobore1980 could you help me with a list?
Thank you.

Well the general notion is that you won't need a document or visa officers doesn't ask for documents but that's a fallacy.

If your visa case is confusing or you are qualified by profile but the visa officer is doubting your conversation and you are asked to provide an evidence, but instead of providing the evidence you are looking like a puppet then your visa will be outrightly denied. If you are lucky, then you might be placed on 221g.

Ipso facto, I wont be able to give you a near accurate answer because i dont like to generalise. I have to know your profile , DS-160 info etc in order to determine what you actually need to equip yourself with. But i believe you can still receive some good generalised requirements from someone here or comb this thread from page-1 as it is well stored with any info you might be seeking , and that is if you dedicate your time to study it.

●▪︎ For example , are you visiting the person for pleasures , annual leave holiday , business purpose , wedding , negotiating a contract , visiting for facility tour etc ?

●▪︎ As per, If someone is your sponsor all you need to provide is your sponsor's financial commitment or evidence not your own bank statement, except if your sponsor has transfered all the funds into your account .

Note: Consular officers 65% of the time does not ask for documents because they dont rey on it but it is 100% advisable to go along with all the necessary requirements as recommended by the embassy. The visa games are changing 👍

For documents you should go with the same documents your mom went with and with your sponsor's bank statement

I also someone with a similar Case
He's going for his sister's wedding
He's self sponsored.
He's in his late 20s and single

He has been denied F1 4 times
The last one he went for was over a year ago

I don't know when you're going but if it's before late November. I'd appreciate if u can you share your transcript. Good luck bro . Congratulations in advance

Efetobore you’re damn so correct. I was denied my last visa because the visa officer asked me to show her a picture of me in Disneyland with any of the characters because I declared that I went to Disneyland in my last trip to Paris. I swear I never expected that because I didn’t go to watch or take pictures with Disney characters. I was like what? She denied me even though it was clear on my passport that I had visited Paris but having mentioned Disneyland as part of my activities in Paris, she needed pictures which I didn’t have. I was damn gutted.

Anyways, click on proceed to payment (as indicated in the attached) and the page will take you to the next section where you will choose your payment option. 👍

Hello all,

Thank you in advance for your responses.

I have my wedding coming up in the US in April and I really want my mom to attend. She has been denied 3 times already. The third time she mentioned she was going for my wedding and tourism. The problem is she has 3 children here and we believe it’s one of the reasons they’ve denied her. She still works as a teacher in Nigeria and she has a business too. Please any advise on what we can do differently? I plan on adding wedding invitation card and a letter of invitation as part of the documents for her to take there.

2. If I start the DS160 now, can I choose a date in maybe Feb or March next year, so that the 3 months start on time for the wedding? Or should I wait until closer to that date to start DS160? I’ve seen people saying they got October dates. Or should I try to get an early date now and if she gets it, just do a renewal later on?

Please help. Thank you.

Hello

■ You cannot get the quick solution as you are thinking except with a divine favour. Also I dont think any Professor of English Literature can help you to write a sweet-worded wedding invitations that will quickly overturn your mom's triple denial records.

▪︎▪︎ The U.S. embassy would have placed her on 221g, then ask her to go and attach invitation and wedding card to their attention ( electronically) if that is what they actually wanted.

Unfortunately, your mom has been annotated for Immigrant Intent and this is caused by her consistent previous (bad) visa applications.

Note: One also need to interview the Trio in America. Like, How did they enter the U.S. ? Whats their residency records ? what work are they doing ? Etc . Your kind of query needs background investigation in order to arrive at a better solution.

I just checked ur profile and saw u started the processing for mama Dec last yr
And she was denied 3 times in less than 10 months

Can you provide a summary of how the interview went
Or a question they asked her that might have looked like the reason for the denial

And does it mean all her children aren't in Nigeria

And what efe said about how you guys immigrated

One more thing if the wedding is next yr April as you said and her purpose of going to the US was for your wedding (her third interview). Isn't that too far. Cos the consular might think if you have a 3 months visa and the occasion isn't till next yr why are you going now.

Or maybe the wedding was postponed

The wedding was postponed when she couldn’t get it. 3 denials was over 3 years, not 10 months. The first two times, she was trying to come for graduation. Her children, one is a permanent resident and two are students. All legal, no issue with status. Questions were is she traveling with anyone? Why is she traveling? Where is she going? If she has travelled anywhere else before. She answered all truthfully. She has only been to Tanzania and Morocco

☆ 3 denials for the whole space of 3yrs is a bad omen and that is enough for you to tighten your trousers. It means that your mom's visa applications submitted to the embassy within 36- months obviously lacked any changes that could warrant her visa success.

What did she travel to do in Tanzania and Morocco ? I hope some agents have not stamped counterfeit visas inside Mama's travel passort in order to proof travel history ? Even if the visas are genuine and your mom could not establish herself as a business traveller or, her travels to those countries are necessitated by a reasonable occurrence, the visa officer will count it as a ploy to prove unnecessary travel history and deny her visa with negative annotations. Mind you, either expired or current , the U.S embassy will verify all visas inside your travel passport.

■ If your claim above is true and that all Mama's 3 children in America has clean and good immigration records then the two suspects remaining is " Bad Visa Applications...ie Inconsistent DS-160s , fake visas on travel passport, inability to proof ties and funds etc, and Poor Communication with the visa officer.

Well the only thing I see could be wrong is what they're seeing on their system about her(DS-160 or previous records of her) because no one actually knows what they're seeing on their system, and they asked who is she going with which is not so common and since she didn't add that anyone would be going with her on her DS-160. Cos she has every right to go to her child's graduation or wedding (most importantly)

Or maybe they fear she might not return because all her kids or family are in the US and she has nothing to return to over here.

Correct, she couldn't overcome immigrant intent.Section 214b.For visit visa, they check your travel history, marital status and economic status. She doesn't have a sold travel history, and we don't know what her economic status and marital status it.All of that played a role in the consular officers decision
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by VisaZest: 10:01am On Sep 30, 2025
Hello,

I can understand your frustration after multiple denials.

A few things I would recommend:
1. Fill her DS-160 and book her appointment for a date that is closer to the wedding date. An interview date that is too early means visa validity will expire before the wedding. Too late means you run the risk of being unable to find interview dates close to your wedding.
2. She needs more interview prep. The interview is just as important, if not more important than the DS 160. Those 3-5 minutes at the window make a significant impact on your visa decision. Your invitation letter and all supporting documents may not be checked. Prepare as if you don't have documents and speak as if you don't have documents (to communicate the merits of your case). Do mock interviews using likely questions to assess and improve your mum's responses.
3. A number of people have mentioned immigration intent. This is 100% true- the US assumes all applicants want to immigrate and it is your responsibility in that interview to prove you have more reasons to return home to Nigeria than to stay in the US. That said, no matter the question asked, her responses must point back to her home ties. For example if ask why she is traveling, she should mention the wedding then the fact that she can only take 2 weeks off from her business because she has pending client jobs to deliver or she needs to return to Naija to care for her husband and other children (use whatever ties applies in her case). This also brings the question- what's the length of trip you filled in the DS-160?
3. Be proactive about volunteering the right information especially what is not in your DS-160. While you do not want to overtalk, the goal is to give them the necessary information to help them see you as someone who has more to do in Nigeria than to be stuck abroad illegally. For example, if asked about how she makes a living- I run a hair salon which I launched 10 years ago that has 15 staff and serves 300 customers monthly with an annual revenue of 100m. This answer shows the magnitude of your work and the fact that your economic circumstances in Nigeria are great and you do not need to run away from home. This is a much stronger response than responding with "I am a business owner, I run a salon".
4. Create a list of key highlights she needs to communicate and help her weave that into any question she is asked.
5. Given her history of 3 denials, she may need to start her next interview with a statement about what has changed since her last application. There may not be any significant changes but she can politely mention that she believes she didnt communicate "1,2,3" well at her last application and would like to opportunity to share them better today. This helps the new visa officer give her at least a chance because someone who has been denied multiple times would struggle to overcome those denials and the visa officer would trust the decision of his/her colleagues who decided before.

All the best!

Greetings to the experts on U.S. visas!

I would appreciate some advice.

I am a first-time applicant and looking to visit the US next year for vacation and to attend the FIFA World Cup.

I have a decent travel history to Europe and Asia, with a stable job and a good salary, and strong family ties.

I have no intention to remain in the US after my visit. I would appreciate advice on how best to prepare for my interview and prove my intentions to return.

What kind of documents should I go with?

Do I need to provide booked tickets, return flight booking, and hotel reservations?

Thank you for your time and response.

■ Greetings.

You are heading to face one of the hardest Visa- brick-walls but I will not discourage you.

Sporting events like World- CUP is the most dangerous and dreaded by security operatives since it brings together largest population of people with different ideologies, likes & dislikes. Ipso facto, this is also where the bad guys usually try to carry out their evil acts.

Unfortunately, in history, this is the first time 3- nations are co- hosting the event. It is also the first time 48 teams will be participating. Also, USA & Canada has no choice than to accept Mexico (the stubborn neighbour) as co- host. This and the above should tell you that the highest and the best security scrutiny will take place starting from all the U.S. embassies worldwide.

Booked tickets, flight tickets, decent travel history to Europe & Asia , and stable jobs cannot help your B2 visa on this occasion because the bad guyz can easily afford and surpasses those expenses and resúmè.

■● You will have to prove previous love or participation in sports either locally or internationally or Recreationally. Affiliation with state or national sport department is a better advantage. The remaining percentage depends on your communication skills and the consular 's psychology.

Fill out a new DS-160 form as soon as possible and create a ticket on your AVITS portal to request an update. The chances of getting a response today or tomorrow are slim, so keep checking your AVITS portal to see if the new DS-160 is updated else just go along with the old DS160
