....Says Southwesterners Face Only Hardship Under ‘Emi Lokan’ Govt The group made the remark in a statement issued on Wednesday and made available to SaharaReporters, titled: “Omoluabi Ethos Betrayed: Yoruba Group Slams Oduduwa Integrity Association’s Attack On Sowore.” AYoruba socio-political group, the Yoruba Revolutionary Movement (YOREM), has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of inflicting nothing but hardship on the people of the Southwest despite being overwhelmingly supported during the 2023 general elections. The group made the remark in a statement issued on Wednesday and made available to SaharaReporters, titled: “Omoluabi Ethos Betrayed: Yoruba Group Slams Oduduwa Integrity Association’s Attack On Sowore.” The statement, signed by Comrade Wale Balogun, National Coordinator of YOREM and Convener of Mekunnu Koya, also condemned the Oduduwa Integrity Association for attacking pro-democracy activist Omoyele Sowore. YOREM described the group as “a patronage-seeking outfit lacking integrity.” According to YOREM, rather than addressing the worsening insecurity and economic suffering under Tinubu, the so-called Integrity Association was busy “cursing Sowore and threatening to stage rent-a-crowd protests in the Southwest.” “President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu already has sufficient media and communication machinery to defend his policies, image, and government whenever necessary,” the group said. “He also has the option of seeking legal redress if aggrieved, without the unsolicited intervention of a patronage-seeking ‘Integrity’ group that itself lacks integrity.” The group further accused Tinubu’s administration of ignoring the ongoing wave of herdsmen-led attacks described as genocidal in parts of Yoruba land, particularly against the Okun Yoruba in Kogi State, the Igbomina in Kwara, and even communities in Oyo State. “If (Muhammadu) Buhari endangered our land through his tacit tolerance for herdsmen violations and banditry, what has Tinubu—deceitfully voted for by many Yoruba under the mantra of ‘Èmi ló kan, Yorùbá ló kan’—done to stop the genocidal cleansing of our people by Fulani herdsmen? What is the benefit today? Hardship!” the statement read. YOREM also highlighted corruption and diversion of funds in the Southwest, citing Ondo State local government chairmen, who recently accused Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of withholding council allocations. “Out of ₦600 million, only a paltry ₦4 million is given to them—yet this is of less concern to these self-serving defenders of Yoruba ‘interests,’” Balogun said. The group condemned what it described as the mass demolition and displacement of the poor in Lagos. It blamed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s government and by extension Tinubu’s presidency for “vicious and inhumane actions” against vulnerable communities in Okobaba, Otumara, Makoko, Owode Onirin, Oworonshoki and other parts of Lagos. It added that Yoruba people are “living in abject poverty” due to Tinubu’s anti-poor policies, multiple taxation, hunger, and despair. Quoting from Ifa philosophy, YOREM stressed that, despite the campaigns of calumny against Sowore, the impoverished masses know he represents justice and their struggle for survival. “Thus, no matter the campaign of calumny against Sowore for speaking truth to power, the impoverished majority know he stands for a better life for them, he is their hero,” it said. “The self-appointed defenders of Tinubu are opportunists thriving on the pain and hardship of the people. Groups like the Oduduwa Integrity Association are the true villains.” https://saharareporters.com/2025/09/24/yoruba-group-blasts-pro-tinubu-association-attacking-sowore-says-southwesterners-face |

Lobatan This is what we've been saying that the Yoruba problem started from the inception of tinubu government. Go to Lagos and you will see that 45% of youths in that state have turned beggers. If they see you as a young guy that is well dressed, they started hailing you for money. |
