EXCLUSIVE: Nigerian Army Surveillance Room Captures Moment Boko Haram Terrorists Invaded Borno Base, Fails To Alert Soldiers

In the footage from the Nigerian Army Surveillance Room at the 7 Division, Maiduguri, the terrorists in their hundreds were seen walking in a straight line as they approached the base.

A video showing Boko Haram members approaching the 152 TF Military Battalion in Banki town, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, moment before the base came under attack has been obtained by SaharaReporters.

In the footage from the Nigerian Army Surveillance Room at the 7 Division, Maiduguri, the terrorists in their hundreds were seen walking in a straight line as they approached the base.

The newspaper had reported exclusively on Saturday how the gunmen Invaded the base on Thursday midnight, dislodging the troops.

152 Battalion is an operational unit of the Nigerian Army, located in Banki and participating in the counter-insurgency Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.

During the attack, the gunmen reportedly killed a yet-to-be ascertained number of soldiers, burnt armoured tanks, military vehicles and made away unquantifiable ammunition, sources said.

A soldier on Wednesday wondered why army personnel in the operational room of the 7 Division Headquarters watched on CCTV as the terrorists approached the base but failed to alert the on ground soldiers.

“That’s the video which captured Boko Haram terrorists on their way T o attack Banki. That was the live coverage from the operational room of the 7 Division headquarters,” he said.

“If they can see them clearly like this at night, why didn't they alert the Air Force and Artillery? Honestly, they don't want the crisis to end. It’s now a business because why didn’t alert the troops on ground. They sat there comfortable in the CCTV room watching, while we have a lot of casualties.

“Even the CO ran away with his orderly and driver to Cameroonian border for safety, it’s so sad. All my colleagues are lamenting. The attack would have been repelled if those on ground, the soldiers were alerted.”

Nigeria has been battling with the insurgents in the North East region for barely two decades now.

The military has repeatedly claimed that the terrorists had been largely defeated and frequently underplays any losses.

The terror group has caused over 100,000 deaths and displaced millions of individuals mainly in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.

Nigerian soldiers have repeatedly complained about their weapons, and have accused their superiors of exposing them to a better armed Boko Haram.

With the way the government and superior military officers keep on releasing terrorists through the "amnesty program" junior military officers will soon turn on their seniors and the corrupt politicians. Nigeria is not above another military rule...I hope we get a benevolent one if these set of democratic rulers refuse to change.

Use their mobile phones to trace them!!!!

The FG should ask the Mobile Phone Companies to supply the Phone numbers and the names of their Registered Owners of all the Mobile phones that entered into that location together from elsewhere just before the time of the attack and that were there for the duration of the attack and the details of those mobile phones current locations !!

FG should then liaise with Cameroon military to arrest those people in possession of the phones

The Mobile phones of the attackers can be used to trace them even without the SIM card inside using their phones IMEI

When drug barons, addicts and criminals unite in Apc to grab and run with the will of the people, death and destruction is all you see.

In a bid to deprive some people from ruling the country 2 tribes colluded together to ruin this country aground. Imagine bandits with sophisticated weapons held meeting with federal and state governments warning them not to strike their camps or they will unleash terror on innocent people, and after the meeting they went back into the forest with their weapons. Imagine such boldness? If you're a southern soldier fighting insecurities in the north your papa name na sorry.

NB: na army hold camera during the meeting dey video bandits 😭😭😭😭😭😭

There was probably nobody in the control room to monitor the feeds from the CCTV cameras.

We think technology works automatically but we always forget the human element attached to it. The most deadly and sophisticated gadgets are useless if not applied well by those who are supposed to use it.

I have said it before and I will repeat it again.

If Bola Tinubu truly want to end insecurity in Nigeria, he needs to hire foreign mercenaries to combat these daring terrorists.

Instruct the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Staff to send all the Nigerian soldiers back to their respective barracks.

Remove Nigerians, especially those from Muslim North and some core Southwest Moslems from being in charge of our surveillance systems and replace them with neutral people.

Change all the Commanding Officers of state cantonments to indigenes of the state they are serving.

Let the foreign mercenaries come with drone and also build drone surveillance posts or headquarters in all affected states to help them mann accurate surveillance on the terrorists.

Give them the Presidential nod to eliminate any terrorists found on our highways, forests, farms, remote communities and interior areas.

Fund them, try this for 9 months and see how Nigeria will return to a secure nation.

Nigerian military is compromised.

Nigerian security is now filled with terrorist sympathizers, sponsors, and enablers

You mean soldiers saw BH guys approaching military base and they refused to alert the soldiers manning the base...

It's obvious those soldiers were sacrificed.
One day, no one will want to apply into any military job, by then this country will be done for.

In a war zone... A CCTV control room will now be left unmanned.

This here... Is the best way to eliminate BH from our soil.

In fact, if you give asari dokubo the contract and the support from all aspects, he will do a wonderful job far more than what the army is doing now.

i really feel sorry for nigerian soldiers and i feel their pains , i also praise their courage and patriotism . honestly i don't think i can serve as a soldier under these politicians it is very clear and obvious that the military leadership and political elite have a plan and they are using these terrorists to pursue that agenda

Only people from a particular section of the country in which...the said section itself is already a battlefield would believe a story from Sahara reporters.

Like Sowere like sahara reporters.

If there's a CCTV camera, I believe somebody was supposed to monitor it. If that's the case, why didn't he or she alert others on time or was it a case of negligence? If they don't take note of these lapses, there's a tendency this may happen again.
Re: Nigerian Army Surveillance Captures Moment Boko Haram Terrorists Invaded Borno by Jughead29: 9:15pm On Sep 24, 2025
I expect the army to take decisive action on this particular event. Let those that watched the live coverage and didn't alert the ground soldiers be brought out, shame and prosecuted. What nonsense for God's sake.

So all this are just games?

Am very sure that even among commandant, solders etc, those that supports terrorism and jihadism are all there.... Reason why battle is been sabotage.... And it's high time the army worked on fetching those terrorists sympathizers out from their camp or else this will continue

CCTV captured the moment and they did nothing. Was the CCTV installed to be watching motion or to help in their security.

As long as Nnamdi Kanu is still on lockdown we are fine, it's better we hold peace talk with bandits and bokoharam than to give Kanu his freedom... This is Nigeria.
