I honestly don’t know how DSTV has managed to keep Nigerians locked in for this long with their outrageous prices. Paying hundreds of thousands yearly just to watch football and a few shows never made sense to me.

Recently, I stumbled on something that changed the game completely – no dish, no decoder, no cables. Just download an app, connect to internet, and boom, you’re watching everything live. The shocker? You pay once for the whole year, not every month.

For me, it has ended the monopoly DSTV has enjoyed for too long. All I need now is steady internet and I’m covered. No stress, no hidden charges.

If you’re tired of the same old DSTV story, try it out and you’ll understand why I’m excited. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
Send me a DM to get started.

It worth it. Unlimited data is 30k. cheaper with fiberone.

You can use your phone / tab, if u dont want to spend on gen
You do more of WhatsApp Calls

If you calculate subscribing DSTV and Data separately is more just subscribing for unlimited data.

I asked my children and wife to choose between Data and DSTV, they all want Data. Even without light, phone and tablet dey run.

My friend Data is life

And you think everybody has access to fibreone? DStv is not going anywhere for now, the majority will still hold on to it because it remains the cheapest alternative for now. And they are already aggressively marketing showmax to their users. Only cheap data costs and reliable internet connection can break DSTV monopoly. Even with unlimited data, I still had to subscribe my DStv just to view Many vs Chelsea match no thanks to the useless networks named MTN and Airtel.

Op just jumped from Frying pan to fire grin cheesy cheesy grin

Heard DSTV has been taken over by Canal +.

They might reduced the sub or anything to make it a bit better and accessible to majority of their customers.

Nobody says DSTV is going away soon. But they are losing out their customer base big time and that is why aggressively marketing showmax. MTN and Airtel is useless in your area? Unless your job or career is not dependent on Data, its better to get starlink or move out of the area.

Let's be frank, most guys subscribe to DSTV because of football.
Why can't I pay for access to football-only channels at the right price.
The DSTV, cable TV model is dead - satellite, setup box, distribution, support engineers, admin office etc.
That model is cost-intensive to set up and run. It is not sustainable long term.
Just like Blockbuster & Netflix, we know who the winner will be.
Live TV as we know it has changed for good.
IPTV is the new normal. You just have to know the authentic ones to use.

Yes their customer base will go down, but it is not because these customers found a cheaper alternative. DStv still leads in the cable tv race at least for the foreseeable future.

Dstv died the day they increased their subscription fee …

When you’re doing business in any location, before you raise or lower your prices conduct a survey to understand how favourable is an economy to the citizens of that location your business is situated. Because the citizens also include your customers.

Even when the economy is favourable, improve the quality of your products and services, this will entice your old customers and in turn bring in new customers, in this case Dstv services are purely outdated and they made their best products and services pricey that a regular customer doesn’t want to be involved

Dstv never gave attention to other companies, thinking they’ll always enjoy monopoly. In business never give your customers an option of searching online for a similar product or service and where to find it… if not you’ve lost that customer and all his friends or her friends and families.

Before the advent of smart Tv, most premium customers do that because of football matches. Dstv made sure that for you to get all football matches, you must be a premium customer, and being a premium customer requires PREMIUM MONEY grin , that was the early stage of the path to their downfall

I don't sub my DStv decoder again.
I have FibreX, it connects all my smart TVs and I have website that streams all matches. I use Miracast to connect laptop or phone to my smart TV and watch football, then for news YouTube on smart TV does the job

DStv is going nowhere. Honestly, they can do without residential customers. Hotels, offshore installations, estates and offices all subscribe to the service. Make una carry una Compact Bouquet subscriptions go sleep. The company has ruled the country since 1993. Withholding your meagre pocket change won’t change anything.
