Nawa for BBC! How can you mention Rachel Reeves without introducing her? I didn't expect this from a big name in journalism. People who make key government decisions like PM Keir Starmer are taking steps to reduce UK immigration and this woman is going about deceiving herself.
Is Stamer taking steps to reduce immigration or is he worsening immigration?

You don't seem aware that immigrants have been kings of England. So be educated.

No matter! That really is not the issue here., See, Trump tells the bitter truth in this matter. That everyone migrated to where they are today is not an excuse to not work on your space to make it habitable like the countries folks love to migrate to. What he is saying is work on your space and make it liveable instead of taking stupid risks to enter developed countries where the inhabitants have done well for themselves. It makes sense. I don't know about others but I prefer to live where I belong and not where I am tolerated.

Thought they say AI will replace humans in tech?

The British have a problem they presently are oblivious of. All their ancestors ever handed over to them as way of life is about to go up in flames. The interesting thing about the Arabic way of life is that it takes no prisoners. It is an either or proposition. It swallows up and replaces your tradition and culture. For instance, Yorubaland is no longer 100% kaaro a jiire bi. It is been replaced with something else with the Yoruba male crouching instead of prostrating to greet the elder. The Soun of Ogbomoso is having to deal with that presently. Trump has warned the Brits well enough!!! The British monarchy is presently endangered. Dodi almost had a child share the same womb with British Royalty!!

Dump tells the bitter truth to you. As for me, everything dump says is a lie. If he tells me the blue sky is blue, I will immediately go out to check it's not red.

I live in London where I was born and belong, and I welcome anyone who wants to migrate here, especially Nigerians, because it's like migrating to come school. After school, you can take your learning back home to make Nigeria like where you migrated to if you wish

It's like we needed to leave my home town to go modern school in the neighbouring town, and go secondary school in Ilesa and to Ibadan or abroad for uni. It would be rather dumb to be told to stay in my village and not go seek learning elsewhere, and it would be dumber of me to heed such advice.

You miss the point. That is not the issue here. Please read between the lines and listen very closely to President Trump's address to the UNO on this matter .

I would say no, I will not listen to dump's "address to the UNO", but I unfortunately heard his entire speech like 3 times because I have C-Span running through the night.

What dump said at the UN is similar to what was said in Rwanda that made the Hutu and Tutsi kill each other, and if he was talking in Nigeria, we'd have religious and tribal wars.

Your opinion is well taken. However, it misses my point. My point is the preservation of the values, mores and ethos of a given environment and ensuring they do not go under in the face of the migratory. Taking things further, it is not hidden that the major reason Nigerians are migrating elsewhere is to flee bad governance. My view is that migrating elsewhere rather than dealing with bad governance is escapist and will not in the long run turn out well for everyone. For instance, when London gets over congested and public services and infrastructure overburdened you will no longer enjoy living in there. The quality of life will drop and the famous rats of London should soon be back! Who pays the piper then dictates the tune - even if who pays the piper turns out to be an atohunrinwa! It can be devastating and depressing in the extreme to discover that who determines what comes to you in your father's house is one not born into the family!! Do you get my point now!!!! Folks are free to migrate anywhere including you coming to live in Lagos Nigeria!!! I trust you won't for obvious reasons!!!!

In quote "talents"
Talents like Nikolay Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko that can found $75 billion company. You think Keir Starmer has problem with such immigrants. Even Trump and MAGAs do not. One: they are Europeans, they dont even need VISAs to enter. Two: The issue of race or religion. Trump once said he will prefer migrants from countries like Norway, not "shithole countries". These people actually know what they are doing.
Mere 18,000 per year is nothing.

The BBC understands the government plans to double the number of high skilled foreign worker visas to around 18,000 a year.

The bold first. I can't ask any Nigerian to sacrifice themselves for Nigeria.

Three times I shipped books to the local government library in my community that had fewer books than I had on my shelves in my home. My people looked at me like I was giving them poison, and told me to just bring the money and give them let them eat. Thankfully, some in the community appreciated it, and now years later talk about how those books helped them with their education. Me? I nearly died, if not for the wonderful UK National Health Service.

London will not get overburdened because it plans for future growth. The current concern is the population falling, hence immigrants welcome, to grow needed tax revenue and GDP so we are not overburdened with debt.

Even Japan needs immigrants, note, though their people resent it.

Re: UK Is Open To Overseas Talent Unlike US, Reeves Says by HealthExpertCLI: 10:16am On Sep 26, 2025
Honestly, the UK isn’t the only place in need of care workers. Countries like Germany, Canada, Ireland, and even Japan are seriously short on caregivers right now. The demand is real because of ageing populations and healthcare gaps.

At CLI College Nigeria, we’ve been following these trends because we train people to become care workers. For anyone looking to work abroad, the big question is always: what do you need to qualify, and which country makes the process easier?

Has anyone here tried Germany or Canada recently? What was the experience like compared to the UK route?

The West is going to adopt the migration strategy of Asian countries that allows people to work and live in their country without a path to citizenship.

Do you think that will make us sit up to fix our country?

Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;

or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States in the 20th century. It asserted that any person with even one ancestor of black ancestry ("one drop" of black blood)[1][2] is considered black (Negro or colored in historical terms).

This concept became codified into the law of some states in the early 20th century. It was associated with the principle of "invisible blackness" that developed after the long history of racial interaction in the South, which had included the hardening of slavery as a racial caste and later segregation. It is an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status, regardless of proportion of ancestry in different groups.[3]

The one-drop rule is defunct in law in the United States and was never codified into federal law.

The politicians you support also to those advanced countries and have Nigerian Health Professionals take care of them.

We will go there and wait for them.

By the time Trump is finally done with US I swear 60 years to this time they will still be struggling to set it right.

US case will end like Nigeria case that God gave us Gej with the best team so far but we said he is too dull, he is clueless, his wife can't speak English, his wife is ugly and God said ok I will give you Buhari with educated wife with apc and what happened? he ruined Nigeriia and done over 60 years upfront damages we are suffering from today.

Eyes go turn America after 4 years of Trump finish.

I don't need to sacrifice myself for any country, and Britain does not require me to, as they reward me handsomely for whatever work I do.

We say, "It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages", so it is in my interest to love myself more than I love any country.

Why considering people already there? Uk has been opened to this since 2018, it was first called Exceptional Talent Visa and recently changed to Global Talent Visa. Many of my friends living in the UK don't even know about the visa. Some of us here are more aware than people there. I have helped many people in tech to get this visa and its the best visa in the world. If you are good and you have this visa, the sky is your starting point.

Say what you know. Uk is the only country out side US and China that have trillion dollars Tech ecosystem, simple google search will help you. There is a reason why all fortune 500 companies have presence in the UK. Also did you know why London and
New York are considered as the Financial capitas of the world? Simple Googlesearch will also help you. Back to the UK Global Talent Visa, Nigeria is actually the 4th highest recipients. Google it, India is 1st, USA is second and China 3rd. You just judge powerhouse UK with people you know doing just Care work, which is not bad as well. Always get fact before talking in public. There is also reason you have over 1m USA experts working in the Uk, experts i said.
Mountbatten:
'Top talent' don’t want to work or live in the UK. Maybe third-world immigrants like Nigeria would find it appealing, but for tech professionals, the UK isn’t a great place for growth. Limited opportunities.

The problem is not that they are taking, but that we are going.

It's like you work for someone who pays you like 100k a day, and someone comes to offer you 200k a day to leave there and work for them instead. Now imagine your government says you can't change jobs for whatever reason. I bet you'd find a way to smuggle yourself to the better pay.

You after all don't work for the benefit of Africa, but for your own benefit. No?

I said it should be regulated, and followed it up by saying the government should treat workers better.... If the continent is good we won't be leaving it in droves... D issue is we don't realise dis Europeans are using us for their benefits.....

D UK started suddenly allowing us into their country after covid19, they lost a lot of people.... They saw that they didn't have enough manpower.... Another reason is because Africas weren't affected that much by covid19 and they saw the need for herd immunity, let this people come into our country maybe they'll be able to shield us if there's another pandemic

We do need to wake up. And yes, "Europeans are using us for their benefits".

They have this very famous book they read called An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations by a certain Adam Smith, that claims a nations wealth comes from the labour of it's people, so the more people they attract the wealthier they become.

We should steal that book and read it and get wise.
