NIV: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole." CSB Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.

Normally cutlass wasn't meant to be a weapon. It was meant for cutting weed and grass. It's wicked people who turned it into a weapon.

Check out the Angolan flag

i disagree with you my bro.
Before the advent of guns and bombs ,sword and sheild have always been tools of fighing war.Sword was an expensive and too luxury for african to afford ,hence the cutlass. ..very easy for our goldsmit to fabricate.

I love this.

If I am around I will just enter that side, very close to my village. It's usually a great celebration.

People come out in their number to dance and make merry, marriages, house openings, child dedication and other activities are planned onto it. The people are friendly and hospitable, and yes, that's the okra farming headquarters around here. Very fresh vegetables like ewa being cooked everywhere.

What a poor reportage. What is the name of the festival? How is cutlass the Focal point of the festival? What is the relationship between the video and the report?

That's the internet for you grin people just post stories and 2 pictures of what they don't understand and blam! Nairaland blows it open on the front page for people to react with half baked knowledge grin

But we that know our people understand that this is a harmless event that usually ends in young men finding cool girls to marry.

Stop saying what you don't know.

The flag of Angola is a horizontal bicolor of red and black, with a yellow emblem in the center featuring a half-gear, a machete, and a star. The red represents the blood shed during the struggle for independence and the defense of the country. The black symbolizes the African continent. The central yellow emblem includes a half-cogwheel (industrial workers), a machete (agricultural workers and armed struggle), and a star (international solidarity and progress).

Can you see ARMED STRUGGLE for the matchet there?
