Someone who has been protesting since the 1980s and haven't seen any positive changes should either change strategy or rest. It's not a new thing that Sowore has been agitating against bad leadership and exposing corruption, but for how long can he continue this way without getting any result? The truth is that an average Nigerian has no problem with corruption or bad leadership. An average Nigerian only has problems with those who are not members or loyal to his religious organization. You can see protest against Israel or heavy mob action against blasphemy but you can't see any protest against looting or even bandit/BokoHaram attacks. 50 people will rather prefer to be shot in a mosque as long as the shooting is carried out by an Islamic terrorist like Bello Turji or bandits and not an Igbo man or a Christian. When it comes to corruption, Nigerians only have issue when the corrupt is from another religious group or someone not loyal to the members or leaders for their religious group. We saw a campaign video in 2022 where a man was telling his listeners that it's better to choose a corrupt Muslim as president over a Christian. So, one could be wondering what Sowere intends to achieve in such a country. He should better find his way back to America where he can spend quality time with his wife. Mind you, the percentage of those who are not religious bigots is not up to 0.02%

The fact is that Sowore's fans are impractical people and rebels without a cause. There is nowhere for Sowore to go in Nigerian politics.

Polling 14k at his second outing in 2023, worse than his 2019 outing when he received 34k votes, while the cowardly, dull and incompetent Obi received several million votes in his first attempt to be President, shows a sane person that Nigerians do not consider Sowore leadership material..

Most people fail in life because they can't accept/work with reality. When a 21 year old voter sees Sowore, above 50, dragging with Nigerian policemen uncouthly on Lagos Street how will he be interested in voting such a character who seems way less mature and sensible than him?

Aside attacking everyone over corruption, like a broken record, has anyone got any video of Sowore talking eloquently and strategically about solutions to Nigeria's problem?

If Sowore really wants to make a difference it won't be with his redundant message to Nigerians who, as OP said, are patently prejudiced and only see wrongdoing and corruption of others. Never their own.

Sowore should adopt moderation and pragmatism, win a political position and show what he can do from that point on and from the inside.

That is how it is done for those serious about making Nigeria better through political participation. Rolling around with policemen on the floor at airport road is not the way. It only confirms Sowore is immature and an attention-seeker with nothing to offer.

Hmm I decided to reply your comment even though it was made in response to another user so as to raise certain points you are missing regarding Sowore. The appropriate way to describe Sowore is to say that he is a force who's time is yet to come because one must not be active in politics to become president, a perfect example is Trump, the current US president. Sowore has on several occasions made it clear why he does not want any other political office besides the president, the main reason was that he sees his mission of helping to save Nigeria as been a revolutionary one which he believes can be easily achieved through leading the country. It is left for Nigerians to choose if they want to try an outsider or keep recycling their political oppressors every 4 years who are only interested in looting the country. In my opinion, Sowore has demonstrated genuine consistency in the fight against bad governance and corruption. If Nigerians can allow a shady character like Tinubu who is glaringly going to be remembered as the worst president to serve, I see no reason why Sowore does not deserve a chance.

Tunji-Oji and Bosun Tidjani etal are doing well. They are in their forties while Sowore is in his fifties. They have gained positive visibilty and a firm foothold in Nigerian politics working and delivering under Tinubu. They are ready to move on to bigger and better.

Whereas Sowore will wear Babalawo outfit to court to be shouting free Nnamdi Kanu, who is on trail for a serious criminal offence, sending the message to Nigerians he is lawless.

You are only been speculative because the electoral votes you are stating here are from an election that was considered by many Nigerians to be rigged. The fact that Sowore chose to play a different kind of politics which you consider to be "childish" in your own view may not be a popular view shared by others as you may presume. Sowore continues to show Nigerian youths what is possible if they fight for their rights through his unique style of politics. I will say his courage and bravery towards calling out evil politicians destroying the country is one quality every Nigerian youth must learn if they hope to save the country. As for his presidential ambition, I still maintain that it is not his place to decide as it is Nigerians that will decide if they want to try an outsider or continue with recycled criminal politicians. If you are attentive to social media trends, you will agree that Sowore's efforts are not in vain.

It's like you don't know how Nigerians think...

The thing is, every NIgerian has taken a side. Today, we have the obdients, atiku, tinubu...once it was GEJ vs Buhari supporters.

People like Sowore, who are no man's supporters are in a difficult position. Everyone likes him, until he turns his spotlight on their preferred leader. That's why tinubuites don't like him, obidents label him agbado, and Atiku people don't like him, buhari people regard him as an irritant, and GEJites regard him as someone who was responsible for bringing down their man, therefore agbado.

The problem with nigeria, is that everything is determined by the political side you take. That's why we can't fight corruption at all. Because if EFCC areests this politican, there would be fire on the mountain. GEJ Has a lot of corruption issues worthy of investigation, as does tinubu, and buhari...yet EFCC don't arrest them because if they do, whole areas of the country would descend into anarchy. Ditto Obi and atiku...Obi get the pandora papers...EFCC is quiet.

The truth is, because of the patronage system our politicans run, added to the poverty of our people...people need to make decisons as to whether they will eat today. So, if I arrest politican X today, and jail him for embezzlement of billions of dollars....that's the daily bread of thousands of people gone. And guess what...they will riot.

We can blame the politicans for keeping nigerians poor...but the truth is, most nigerians prefer the resource dependent economy we run because it makes free money easier to get. If we ran an industrial economy, it would take decades before we see the benefits. So, we keep our economy dependent on oil, and go into debt running patronage projects...but that's a digression.

I dont know how it would end. Split the country, and each new country will have the same issues.

P.S : People up North are not allowing themselves to be passively killed by bandits...infact there are protests, and there are vigilante groups that fight the bandits.

Also, you can ask why southerners are angry when fulani herdsmen kills some of them, yet keep quiet when it is their own countrymen doing it.

This is another good point we tend to forget. I.e the fact Sowore is a glorified propagandist and fake news purveyor (SaharaReporters) we now view a Nigerian politician because he has contested two Presidential election.

Whereas the reality is that he is still affiliated with SaharaReporters meaning he remains in the business of being sensationalist, provocative and outrageous to make money.
