Judolisco:IOCs are not government owned and good number of pengassan leaders are from there and there members are enjoying the privileges Don't pray to work for dangote, I know a lot of his former staffs that have resigned to pick up contract jobs. Indians are treating people there as nothing and you don't want to to join a body that can speak for thm |

chidiokay:In saner climes risk x likelihood plays a good role in your earnings Dangote drivers don't even earn up to 300k in this tinubu economy where that amount can even do groceries alone So we are no down to FG paying soldiers as a benchmark. As I said before am sorry for that your lil brother, I believe he must have been sending put his CVs around. Keep supporting a man who can't tangibly Raise his workers salaries when inflation went above 100% |

maiunguwar:Answer my question How has pengassan milked nnpc refineries Am surprised you are not mentioning total, chevron, seplat etc. Is it only nnpc that you know? Dangote doesn't have the legal rights to go against Nigeria's labour laws, if he had balls, why didn't he announce he sacked them because of union. In just 7days even UN court will be treating the matter You people always keep supporting illegality and sure you will taste it |

Kanixt:Are they not also part of the masses? Do they go to a different market designated for them only? Dangote go soon show una shege soon. Make him just get the Monopoly on petrol products wey him dey find...una go swallow hot stones for mouth. Dey play |

Zionmdde:Total, Chevron and Seplat don't operate refineries in Nigeria. Dangote alluded to the sacked workers as saboteurs,we knew what he meant,if you don't know,na you sabi |

Feelsgood:In a country with more than 50% unemployment, you got work in dangote refinery that paid more than four times our minimum wage, you carry unionism for head like gala go make trouble,no be juju be dat? And besides there's nothing like monopoly, you can apply for a license to build your own,BUA is currently building his own in Akwa Ibom |

maiunguwar:So pengassan in upstream is not bad, but pengassan in middlestream is bad Wow Tell me more. Even pengassan president is not from the refinery So according to you if Chevron operate refineries, they will not allow pengassan, na wa oooo |

Zionmdde:I was there about 3 years ago for a project on the facility. I couldn't believe my eyes what I saw and experienced there. Coming from a background where we don't settle for less in the oil and gas industry...na only me advice myself to quickly leave that place. Safety wise(0%), Labour wages/salary/compensation na just nonsense for the Nigerian workers. Na the Indians and Chinese worker dey enjoy. I pitied my fellow Nigerians i saw working with little or no safety barriers to aid them work safely in that facility. Alot of people lost their lives on that project but the management suppresses that information from leaking out to the public. ![]() |

Feelsgood:Leave your fellow Nigerians This is a country where we side with our oppressors because they have the loudest voice Leave matters, dangote knows why he hates anything that will give his workers voice Go to ibadan expressway and see what slave camp looks like Same Indians are running dangote plants. |

Zionmdde:Dangote is just one year old,he has transformed the petroleum landscape in Nigeria,we no longer spend scarce forex to import petroleum products, that means the naira is no longer under unnecessary pressure because petroleum products imports constitute the biggest drawdown of forex. We are also in the unique position to earn forex and further stabilize the naira because the refinery was also designed for export. Una wan carry una bad belle from Nupeng come dabaru him business for am |

maiunguwar:So how does his members being in pengassan stop him from doing all these Please be practical. Before dangote refinery- naira was 1,500 to 1600 After dangote refinery it's in between Tell me more about naira stabilization Note am relating to you at the grassroots level because it's obvious you know nothing much about the Petroleum industry For you info, the big players in the Petroleum industry in Nigeria don't care about dangote. His company doesn't even represent in any way when the big boys are talking It's only because nnpc is government owned that's why they are even dangling with dangote. The likes of total, Chevron and even seplat don't care |

owobokiri:You should tell me whether you've bought the same fuel at the rate of 1,080# or not, before he started operation. Besides, I need you to remind me a time when you spent 30mins on the queue to get fuel at any filling station since his refinery began operations. Rather than encourage more investors to come into the largely untapped industry, you are here encouraging the disruption of the only one available. It's not just proper. |

Zionmdde:Once again you lie !! the job/ profession with biggest hazard are Military/police, Zoo keepers, Fire brigade to mention few They dont earn more than Doctors, Nurses, Lawyers in developed countries ... what are you saying Wrestlers,UFC fighter are more open to Life threat in Sport world .. But they dont earn as much as footballers or basketballers .. Generally how many Nigeria workers are earning more than 300k sef, you claim to be realistic but you are not acting like you know 70k is the minimum wage I thought you are educated, cos i dont know how you will Miss the Fact that " Minimum wage" is the main regulator of Remuneration across private & public sector, its more reasonable we focus on FG not Dangote Dont feel sorry for someone you dont know, I dont have business with Dangote he doesnt hold or influence the standard or cost of living, Dangote does business, pay Tax, contribute SR, creat employment ... how is he Nig. problem |

chidiokay:Am still sorry for your lil brother if he works for dangote, I know very well how they can't even compare to their mates in the oil and gas industry Oga am not talking about entertainment here When you remove entertainment, do that your analysis again and come back You hate union abi, but you are mentioning 70k, if union didn't exist would government have given you 70k minimum wage Mentioning 300k shows the level you are coming from no wonder you think you lil bros earning less than 500k is doing well 300k that can't even do only groceries. A 6months baby alone will consume more than 120k a month. Calculate pampers, Baby milk and come back Nah am not educated but am schooling you. I can even tell you your brother's salary if you give me his name. Just 3 calls and boom.you get it |

Zionmdde:So for how long will it continue? Can a Nigerian investor overseas treat his host's nationals the way Indian and Chinese investors treat Nigerians here in Nigeria? But we allow these atrocities to go unpunished. One day na one day.... |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by maiunguwar: 10:55am On Sep 27, 2025 |
Zionmdde:What will his members being in PENGASON achieve for his refinery? The naira kept climbing since the time of Buhari through to Tinubu but stabilized when dangote products hit the market and still holding, why is that so? In the locust years when we imported all manner of petroleum products including fake and dirty fuel, why didn't the big boys build a refinery or even managed the NNPC own? Anybody that can come with 20B dollars to build a refinery anywhere in the world is a big boy by every definition. Dangote can avoid Chevron, Total and the likes to source his crude from Angola,Ghana and the US and still remain competitive |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by maiunguwar: 11:06am On Sep 27, 2025 |
Feelsgood:For donkey years, Nigeria was the laughing stock of the world,we exported crude oil and imported refined products despite having four refineries that gulped billions of dollars in TAM. Where were you guys? Where was so called NUPENG and PENGASON? What did they do about the shameful situation? Dangote refinery has come to remedy the situation and all of a sudden you're shouting Nupeng this, PENGASON that to do what exactly? If you're not satisfied with his condition of service you can leave |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by Zionmdde: 11:07am On Sep 27, 2025 |
maiunguwar:You talked about changing the landscape in petroleum industry, I told you he is not even recognized in that field. You could have just said changing Nigerian economy Dangote is a very very big boy,.agreed, but he is not changing any landscape in the petroleum industry. Check nuprc 2024 report and tell me if he was mentioned tangibly there. You guys keep mentioning what you can't defend Pengassan is not there to dabble into dangote's business or how he runs his refinery. They are only interested on how he treats his staffs. So I want to know the relationship between nnpc fuel importation and pengassan. Or do you keep saying what you don't know Don't worry pengassan is coming, and when they come, dangote should not cry ooooo. You don't fight such unions that way, more than 80% of pengassan leaders are not your regular Nigerians oo and they earn salaries in millions. They are not hungry and they will bring out time to deal with dangote. By the time they take the case to UN ILO that a company in Nigeria is boldly contravenining one of the core pillars of ILO, you guys should not cry foul |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by maiunguwar: 11:12am On Sep 27, 2025 |
Zionmdde:A recent report concluded that 90 percent of people in paid employment in Lagos earn less than 150k a month. Do we blame Dangote for that or the government or the workers? What exactly is the work of the Unions |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by Zionmdde: 11:23am On Sep 27, 2025 |
maiunguwar:Now you have jumped into another lane, let me still clear you small There is something called industry benchmark Oil industry and banking industry is not the same So pengassan will fight for dangote to pay their members based on the industry benchmark I wish you will realize how childish it is to compare refinery workers with government workers Research how well refinery workers abroad earn compared to their counterparts in other industries |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by joefelin2345: 11:35am On Sep 27, 2025 |
Zionmdde:Oga no be by force for them to work in that Coy. They could go & start their own businesses if they like. No one is unduly supporting DF in this matter. Beside, what are the benefits from these so called Unions to the Nation. The FG once bought serries of Vehicles for them to run cheap Transport business for their members. Where are those vehicles today? They have been ran a ground which means they can't even manage simple businesses . But they can only be shouting on their employers & just making names for themselves. We've seen one of their top members that rose to govern a State. What's his achievements while there if I may ask? |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by Zionmdde: 11:45am On Sep 27, 2025 |
joefelin2345:Don't worry, mark this post, dangote will soon be crying 1st, the people who drill the oil he is using are pengassan memebrs abi. You will know what happens when pengassan goes on strike. Even tinubu will show face from wherever he is. 2nd where he can get crude supply shebi the country is a member of UN and signatory to ILO conventions. He will get crude in a country where it is illegal and punishable to sack workers for joining union. On this matter, dangote will back down. He will cry and back down. You guys should be prepared to cry with him when he starts crying |

Zionmdde:You said Union is strictly there to protect the interests of its members! If the interest of its members means that they should keep Nigeria in poverty. Nigerian unions and workers are often perceived as corrupt, incompetent, and not serving the national interest. The Nigerian unionised workers are antiquated and backwards, and refuse to be involved. Nigerian unions are keen to keep unproductive refineries and steel plants (Ajaokuta) in government hands, with the knowledge that they keep their jobs and remain relevant at the expense of the entire country. PH, Warri and Kaduna have not refined a drop of oil in 25 years, yet the Union wants to keep these relics. Nigerian unions have stalled the sale of the state-owned NNPC refineries for decades through industrial actions, legal challenges, and public opposition. Their resistance is based on concerns over job security, transparency, national economic interests, and fear of exploitation by private operators.[quote][ FG blames NLC for blocking sale of refineries to Dangote in 2007 Anthony Ailemen September 11, 2024 https://businessday.ng/news/article/fg-blames-nlc-for-blocking-sale-of-refineries-to-dangote-in-2007/ /quote] |

Zionmdde:Unions are merely intermediary, that they are referred as people mouthpiece ...its doesnt mean Nigerians dont have mouths We can speak for ourselves via conseus in absence of " Union" i went to Unilorin, not under " Union" but i never saw my lecturer grumble or look unfresh due to poor welfare package that made me conclude Unions are relevant in a place of failed leaders If there was no Union there would have being means govt n the people will dialogue afterall these politicians speak directly to the people when they want our votes The 70k labour agreed with FG, is that what Nigerians wanted , at what Time have unions gotten Nigerians what they want, or meet expectationsLOL !! 300k cant do groceries Uncle naa Foreign garri n shark you dey buy put for house 🤣🤣 Let me ask you a question how many workers in your neighbourhood you think say dey earn 300k ... does it mean they are not eating or their children are not eating Nobody is arguing with you 300k is a lot, But the reality is minimum wage is 70k meaning lots of Nigerians no even smell 300k in a month ... reality |
| Re: Dangote Refinery: We Sacked Few Workers, Over 3,000 Nigerians Still Employed by Zionmdde: 1:59pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
chidiokay:Nobody living in my neighborhood can earn less than 500k monthly, just to let you know. Change your circle so you stop thinking at the level you are Union is optional, the law only states that, when a worker voluntarily joins Union, you have no rights to victimize the person. I didn't see pengassan forcing anybody to join |

maiunguwar:If he wants Monopoly of that sector, then he should have sited his refinery where they'll give him that. He knows he can't do such except in Nigeria because of corruption which I believe he's a part of. He has to play by the rules... after all...he gets tax rebate from the same corrupt government he's been hobnobbing with |
