Even in University football, we always make sure we have 1 man drop 5 yards from any striker to mop up. Somehow Caicedo and Tosin were not "goalside" of Mbuemo from that header. That is a disgusting lack of awareness. Something that was second nature to us at amateur level should not have to be explained to pro footballers. Before every match we discuss as defenders. I will go up on the striker and "clap him" - you maintain 5 to 10 yard distance to clear up anything that drops - or vice versa. From this simple rule, we did not concede from open play all season. The error in that play is highlighted below, not losing a header against a 6ft 5 striker

That was a defender error. A Defender ought not to commit himself to an aerial ball if he is not sure of winning it and he should have second option should incase he loses the ball.

That's what a good and experience defender will do.
Besides, other defenders tried to set offside trap which also backfired.
