Zionmdde:Companies cannot be forced to join a union or have their employees join one; this decision rests with the employers and workers themselves. Dangote will simply recruit people who agree/sign not to join unions. Companies do this all around the world. You cannot hold the country to ransom because of unionism and selling imported goods. BTW, Dangote has lost billions before, it didn't show. How many Nigerians can afford to lose 10,000 naira without pain? How many can afford a hike in fuel price and the scarcities that will likely follow in a faceoff? ILO or UN cannot force people to join union, please be enlightened. |

Dbegining:There is nothing funny here. Dangote is enjoying being able to brand himself for decades. The single reason why he can be selling higher than the rest and yet get patronized more than others. That is not monopoly, that resourcefulness. |
| Re: PENGASSAN Stops Gas, Crude Supply To Dangote Refinery by Dbegining: 5:59pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Softmirror:It's no longer branding, it's not resourcefulness? I don't know how familiar with the Construction industry but ask around, people prefer BUA cement to Dangote anytime anyday. What exactly is Dangote known for as a brand that gives him advantage or an edge over others? Strength? Aesthetics? None. Just greater supply and the ability to use politics to ensure that competition doesn't get as much resources when it comes to raw materials as he does. Remember how Dangote was fighting BUA recently for a piece of land with iron ore? This would be my last reply to you on this matter. You can continue in your self delusion. |

FOLYKAZE:I disagree. Even though I am a fan of Dangote for risking huge capital in an unstable economy like Nigeria, I do not support his sacking the entire staff of his refinery as a punishment for joining trade union. The Nigerian constitution guarantees freedom of association, and working for Dangote cannot impinge on that right. Trade unionism is practiced in all democracies in the world. Only dictatorships like North Korea, China and Russia forbids trade unionism. Workers must be given the rights to negotiate salaries and conditions of service. |
| Re: PENGASSAN Stops Gas, Crude Supply To Dangote Refinery by wirinet(m): 6:04pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Image123:That would be an unconstitutional agreement. You cannot sign away your rights of freedom of association as guaranteed by the constitution. |

Image123:Nah you are the one who need enlightening because I don't how low I can go to reply what you just wrote there Pengassan cannot impose unionism on dangote and his workers. At the same time it contravenes human rights laws for dangote to victimize workers who willingly joined union UN will descend on any employer found victimizing workers because they joined union. because in the universal declaration of human rights, every worker of dangote has freedom to choose to or not to join union without fear of Losing their jobs And asking me if UN can do anything to dangote, then you need more education |

adenigga:Isn't this the same people that wanted Dangote to increase the price of petrol? Well, we are our own problems |
| Re: PENGASSAN Stops Gas, Crude Supply To Dangote Refinery by Softmirror: 6:10pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Dbegining:Exactly! Dangote is able to push his Brand into the market becoming a house hold name. That is a marketing strategy and not monopoly. They all have a level playing ground. Dangote is being more business oriented and more resourceful. That is not being a monopolist. Look at the NNPC, since how many decades. But can't deliver. Should we now blame Dangote for being business minded because he is taken charge of the lapses and unseriousness and exploitation in the oil sector to his advantage? |

Zionmdde:They are not shutting the Dangote Refinery, they are only cutting off crude oil and gas supply to his facility. Which is very okay. Dangote is used to cutting corners and always trying to outsmart the system and everyone that deals with him. Same he did will all the accident victims involving his trucks, they were all abandoned. He always fights and wants to close down competitors, Ibeto Cement for example. Same thing he did with Emefiel, conniving to get dollars at ridiculous rates. And several others cases... He has been lobbying Tinubu to stop importation of fuel, I guess that one doesn't trust him enough to oblige him his selfish request. |

Zionmdde:It's okay then. BTW, i didn't ask you if UN can do anything to Dangote. No, they cannot. |
| Re: PENGASSAN Stops Gas, Crude Supply To Dangote Refinery by GreenCovering: 6:46pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Every right reasoning Nigerian out to be praying for Dangote at this point. Fuel price was coming down. So also was the dollar rate. All of a sudden this "something peng" wants to disrupt this recovery process by forcefully unionising Dangote's workers. We should not forget this timeline when things begin to nose-dive again. ![]() |
| Re: PENGASSAN Stops Gas, Crude Supply To Dangote Refinery by ElevationD: 6:49pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
FOLYKAZE:Unfortunately for them, Dangote is not the loser. Dangote will respond by importing crude and sell to them in dollars. Petroleum marketers will pay Dangote in dollars and deliver to the citizens at a higher price than obtains presently. Who loses then? PENGASSAN members, family, friends and Nigerians as a whole. Their attempt to shut down the nation’s biggest refinery out of their greed certainly comes with a huge price for all Nigerians including themselves. They board public transport to work. Their families and friends use public transport. Those of them who own cars will purchase petrol at elevated prices. Who suffers? Dangote? He does not purchase petrol. While they got involved in strikes and failed a lot of times, they ended up not getting government to make the public refineries work. Now that the nation has a private one that serves all, the terrible leaders of the association intend to frustrate the company and all Nigerians. Several calls have been made to PENGASSAN, asking them to team up and build their own refinery. If they cannot, then they must allow Nigerians manage their lives with the stability that Dangote offers. |

Kastonkastroll:What are you saying .... People had " choice" ... dangote gave his condition as an employee ... as an employee you either take it or leave it Stop gaslighting us with livelihood, an employee who cherish is job wont disobey Mgt terms nd condition. He who pays the pyper should dictate the tune, any reasonable employer would sack an employee whose loyalty belong elsewhere .. its that simple |

Image123:Don't mind them, Ecowas is it every country that joined, are there no countries that refuse to join the UN Everybody gets right but an employee's right is subservient to Management's terms and conditions |

Image123:Obviously you couldn't have included your last sentence, you completely showed your level of exposure. Let dangote be found guilty first, and see how all companies abroad will be mandated to wipe his organization off their supply chain |

Zionmdde:Nahh, the UN has no such power, plus it's twisted. Mandating free companies and countries/governments, not to associate with Mr D (mandating non association), because he mandated non association. The irony. ![]() |

It very sure. One is definitely going to kill the other in this fight. Of course I don't know which one but I pray 🙏 Dangote win. We're now seeing the reason why Our Refineries haven't been working? |

Image123:They don't need to mandate or force anyone The UN ILO conventions are law in over 150 countries. So it becomes illegal to deal with dangote who is known for violating human rights You think dangote doesn't know all these, why didn't he explicitly state he sacked them because of unionism You think every country is like Nigeria that doesn't care about human rights violations, go and read the ESG policies of foreign companies and come back |

| Re: PENGASSAN Stops Gas, Crude Supply To Dangote Refinery by higgs: 8:06pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
My brother, the thing tire person. These pengassan and nupeng people are real enemies of Nigeria. They fought against OBJ privatisation of government owned refineries. Later, they convinced Yaradua to cancel the privatisation, that decision has cost Nigeria billions of dollars. That is why you hear them describing the government owned refineries as "assets".Now they want to tell Dangote how to run his business. Evil people yang: |

Zionmdde:Importing crude is cheaper than importing fuel, crude is refined into many products. Disruption of fuel supply comes with economic and political consequences. He is wailing on NNPC because he has a validly signed contract with them to supply him crude |
