The 26-storey pig farm in Ezhou, Hubei Province, operational since October 2022, can house up to 650,000 pigs and slaughter 1.2 million annually, driven by China’s demand for pork, which accounts for 60% of global consumption, as per a 2023 FAO report.

This vertical farming innovation, managed by Hubei Zhongxin Kaiwei, uses controlled environments to optimize space and reduce disease risks, contrasting with traditional outdoor farming where African Swine Fever outbreaks killed 40% of China’s pig population in 2018-2019, per a 2020 study in Transboundary and Emerging Diseases.

Critics highlight welfare concerns, noting that confinement limits natural behaviors like movement, with a 2021 MDPI study showing caged pigs exhibit higher stress levels, raising ethical questions about scaling such systems globally.

Please watch YouTube videos on mechanized farming. You will be surprised how they handle the whole process with machine. What we are doing here that we called farming is actually gardening.

It's Islam that's against eating pork. Christianity doesn't condemn it
that's not true!

Leviticus 11:7: "And the pig, though it has a split hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you".

Deuteronomy 14:8: "The pig is also unclean for you. You are not to eat their meat or even touch their carcasses"

Remove military. China is way ahead in everyother thing.

Almost nothing happens in the world that is not linked to China.

And the best part of it like we do complain in Nigeria , the citizens are directly impacted. Look at their infrastructure’s, security, healthcare, Housing, education. They don’t cost an arm and leg to get basics.
The bolded is correct. Not sure where you pulled the rest out of. Outside of the military, the other thing is economics. China isn't ahead of the USA in any area there. Hasn't caught up with the USA even.

Do you know approximately 40% of SP500 company’s manufacture in China? Not mentioning small businesses that depends on China.

Yes, by figures you might attribute all and say the US has a bigger economy. But you must also include how 40% of it is driven by China.

Now relate with debt. Despite China’s tremendous growth, its debt has still been curtailed and less than 17 trillion which is about 85% of GDP. The US debt has buried its GDP-over 110%.

Lukuluku69:
The Bible says don't eat Pork.

Pork became eatable meat for Christian when Jesus left and everything went to the dogs literally.
This is Old Testament law for the Jews. You can read Mark 7:16-19, or Romans 14:14 for the Christian reference
Re: China’s 26-Storey Skyscraper Pig Farm (Pictured) by phr0nesis(m): 10:10pm On Sep 27, 2025
JuanDeDios:
Yes. Islam and the Old Testament are against it because at the time they were written, pigs were raised in very unsanitary conditions and so pork was seen as unclean. But Christianity knows better, I guess, because today, pigs are raised in clean environments.
It's not about the environment. It was abolished during the time of Jesus, when He explained that physical food cannot affect a person's spirituality, therefore, no food is unclean
