DatNiggaDaz:There’s nothing like law of the land and it’s not written in our constitution to join any labour association, compulsorily. Get educated, man! This has always been stereotypical since Nigeria’s independence. Only a few people know this is voluntary. There are other small and businesses in NIgeria in certain sectors in NIgeria which do not allow their staff to join labour union and you won’t hear this because they are not dealing with cabals that hold NIgeria down. Dangote is fighting principalities that are k.illing NIgeria’s chances of development because their own selfish reasons. Wait for BUA to complete his refinery and you will see that those cabals will still fight BUA. They are loosing grip of free money they have been making off you and I. Billions are now turning to millions in their bank accounts and they know if this could go on, in the next 15 years or more, they won’t be relevant again. That’s why the fight. I have a childhood friend who was working in one of those tank farms in Apapa. His company has folded up. He is back in our town now. |

I'm sure we have Labour Laws in Nigeria. I don't know what to say again before the fooooolish Moderators ban me again. I don't understand why my frank and sincere comment on Columbian Left-Wing President's remark about Gaza crisis attracted a ban. Is it that they have issues with reading and understanding? |

searchng4love:How does that justify PENGASSAN breaking the law? They should go to court as well and challenge the sack and let the courts settle it. And of course Dangote will write this epistle to decry this action for Nigerians to see. Let both of them go to court |

searchng4love:Even though I didn't know this but the question is, Did Aliko sack his workers based on their unionism or on different charges, even if we feel those charges are trumped up. They are 2 different cases and are not connected, according to law. If you and I fight physically, it's 1 case. If I stop selling groundnuts to you in my shop, 2nd case, while the case of our fighting is still in court, you will have to establish precedence to connect the 2 cases. You can't just assume. What if I have decided to stop selling groundnuts patapata in my shop? This is the emotional case of "Eiye ke lana, Omo ku leni" in Yoruba land. It means, "The witch cried yesterday, the child dies today" implying that the witch killed the child. But what if you find out the witch has been crying at the same time, every week for the last 25yrs? Will you still burn the witch? That's all I am saying. That's why the law is there. Thanks for listening. |

TheBizGenius:You dey mind those ones? People wey dey use their brain ko plenty for this site. You keep shouting someone is being lawless, yet you never took him to court but resorted to sabotage. How does that make sense? Is that not bullying? You first forced his workers to join your union, forced stickers on his trucks, he decided he didn't want to have anything to do with those workers and the next thing is to sabotage the economy, that's crazy and illegal at the highest form. They are trying to force FG to pick a side so they can blackmail the FG as well. Thats what happens when you give a union too much ground. |

VanuatuWycombe: ![]() You have no idea of what Labour laws constitute. You don't know that the rights of workers are protected under the constitution and International Labour Laws. Go and refresh your knowledge. No amount of intimidations Media propaganda that will make PENGASSAN go against the laws and constitution of the Land no matter how powerful Dangote is |

dailyflavour:Labour Rights Apply to All Sectors ✅ Labour Act (Cap L1, LFN 2004) - The Labour Act applies to all workers, whether employed in the public or private sector. - Section 9(6) protects every worker’s right to freely join or refrain from joining any trade union. - There is no exclusion for private companies. ✅ Constitution of Nigeria (Section 40) - The Constitution guarantees freedom of association to “every person” — this includes: - Public sector workers - Private sector employees - Even self-employed individuals |

erad:Ohhhh God!! You again?! You this guy, your comment dey always burst my brain sha!! You are the first person to notice that they are egging on the federal government. It's really where they are going. And if Tinubu makes the mistake, then the narrative can be sold to the whole labor force in the country. Na small small them dey comot ant for inside trouser. (That sounds way more philosophical translated in Yoruba language. Lol) Once again, oga, stop showing you are far more brilliant than I am jare. |

Dangote, Petroleum business is not Sugar business, Petroleum business is not Flour business, Petroleum business is not Cement business. Dangote you cannot achieve absolute monopoly and control of an entire Oil & Gas supply chain anywhere in the world. All staff and operators in every sector of the industry; upstream, midstream and downstream including Nigerian personnel of the international oil companies are unionised, you cannot use your Indian controlled top management to intimidate and oppress the vulnerable and common Nigerian workers, unchecked. You cannot unilaterally control the entire energy security of Nigeria unchecked. Dangote, your business strategy is callous, bullish, inhumane, insensitive, shrewed, and localised, and this strategy will not succeed in the highly advanced, international, diversified and highly regulated Oil & Gas industry, you will not succeed in monopolising the oil and gas industry and holding the nation's energy security to ransome. Dangote, you are where you are because of the government previledges that your businesses enjoyed. Enough of your government enabled monopoly, you are not untouchable, the Nigerian Government and the Nigerian People made you and the Nigerian People and the Nigerian Government can break you. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not sound like Mohammed Buhari or Ibrahim Babaginda or Sani Abacha, your Government enablers, waivers and previledges has an expiry date, you cannot continue to bully, monopolize and trample on other Nigerian businesses to hold the title of richest black man. Dangote, tread carefully in this industry or the industry will make you learn the hard way; learn that the rich also cry. |

dailyflavour:You asked this question because... 1. You are not working in Dangote refinery or any of his subsidiaries. 2. You're not in the oil and gas sector. 3. You have no close person in any Dangote Subsidiary who tells you what they go through in their company. He built a refinery, fine and good. He built a massive loading island, made it difficult for marketers to come and buy with coastal vessels. Once he discovers some marketers have imported, because they must stay affloat, he would crash price to frustrate them. As if that was not enough, he imported thousands of truck to start home delivery. Na only him like money ![]() The desperation is too much.If Dangote is allowed to have his way the way he did with cement, Nigerians may regret it in the long run. He should not bastardize the industry's standard. |

Zionmdde:Ignorance, ask who are contract holders and contract owners in oil company, I know what am talking about you have no knowledge of what is happening, shell sold because of security as you read, but today Renaissance have exceeded their production target by 40%, dead wells are coming up because the new owners and new management understand the game. Pengassan staff are in decision making positions and they are the drivers, I don't need to convince you but I have more than 20yrs experience in the industry so I don't read it in the news like you. |

It is not about private or public, it is about fundamental human rights. Rights of association is fundamental human rights . having money to build business does not give one right to abuse workers rights. dailyflavour: |

infohenry:You're very funny.... Please specify what role you play in this industry you call your own? Do you know the cadre of people who are members of PENGASSAN who work in the industry you just want to talk to the gullible? Please show proof of PENGASSAN members being able to give contracts to themselves and their cronies that will make a company like SHELL sell it's assets like you mentioned or you just like capping what your imagination tells you ? You forgot to even mention ENI who sold to OANDO....was it because of PENGASSAN too? |

TheBizGenius:Hahahahahaha.. I'm not more brilliant bro, infact my intelligence is average but I'm definitely not dumb. When we prioritize cramming to pass exams over actually understanding and adapting, this is the end result. A population of people who are brilliant on paper but are not logical. All the variables are staring them in the face but they don't even know how to apply those variables to reach a conclusion. They need to be spoon-fed information, reason it's easy to manipulate most of them. |

It disgraceful that PENGASSAN that cannot run a refinery is disrupting the activities of Dangote refinery which is the only functioning refinery in Nigeria, it is just like killing the goose that lay the golden egg. |

Zionmdde:I see your post everywhere you are so much embroiled in defending this action by Pengassan and you have nothing to say about the hardship that will be imposed on the common man if this strike should commence or are you a member?. You are not even talking about the implications of this strike probably because you don’t care talking about how a private employer sacks its employees I don’t know when Dangote became a public enterprise |
