It disgraceful that PENGASSAN that cannot run a refinery is disrupting the activities of Dangote refinery which is the only functioning refinery in Nigeria, it is just like killing the goose that lay the golden egg.
Actually, you are both right and wrong, from PENGASSAN point of view.

To them, "You believe we are killing the goose but are we partakers of the golden egg again? What's the use of the goose to us?"

Once you understand that they no longer consider themselves as relevant stakeholders, you will understand their grouse. And you will accept that they should not bloody care about the health of your goose.

Lol.

I see your post everywhere you are so much embroiled in defending this action by Pengassan and you have nothing to say about the hardship that will be imposed on the common man if this strike should commence or are you a member?. You are not even talking about the implications of this strike probably because you don’t care talking about how a private employer sacks its employees I don’t know when Dangote became a public enterprise
The Law didn't exonerate public enterprise when it declared that workers are free to unionize go and study the law

Honestly, a lot of Nigerians are illiterates on this issue between Dangote Refinery and PENGASSON and NUPENG.

When Dangote Refinery started their challenge with NUPENG, I was hoping they could resolve it amicably but when they took the challenge further to PENGASSON, I knew that Dangote Refinery was gonna feel the full wrath of the labor unions.

PENGASSON is actually senior staff association and Dangote Refinery feels they can challenge them and get away with it.

Before Dangote Refinery, there has been many oil and gas companies in the Nigerian oil and gas industry and they all work with PENGASSON members and resolve their differences.

Who the hell is Dangote Refinery?

The war just dey start ohhhh.

Guys, please note that Pengassan folks have flooded the comment section to defend their union's action. I can see that they have many people in here. These guys will keep milking Nigerians, polarizing the mind of Poor Nigerians for their own self serving interest. Dangote can decide to yield to this union's demand, however, Nigerians would suffer the consequences, it would cause ec9nomic sabotage, while Pengassan would be smilling to the Bank.

Or did you not complain about the price of bag of rice and so and so...

Dangote you are the lawless person here. Obey the laws of the Land as provided by the constitution.

You have now resulted to big möney Media campaign against the rights of workers. Shell, Oando, Cheveron and Private international petroleum enterprise has been obeying the employment laws as regards the rights of workers to be Unionized.

You think you are above the law. You just came recently into the field and behold everyone must bow to you.

You are playing with fire. You must respect the laws of the Union members. You succeded in deceiving most Nigerians during the cement saga and now you are acting the alpha and omega in that sector.

Your intimidations and aim to control and monopolize the oil sector will definitely fail.

You are not made for this smoke with PENGASSAN
I stand with PENGASSAN on this one...

Is there a law in this country that said every oil and gas worker must be in union or that a company must employ a worker if he is a member of union?

Zionmdde:
Oga it's not your industry. You are talking like a filling station attendant
1. Shell and other similar companies sold their assets because of the cost of security and community interferences. Pengassan members are not even in management talk less of having the power to award contracts

Second nnpc is working. You are the one who doesn't know that refinery is only a part of nnpc.

Lastly pengassan members are not management in any company. Let that sink in
Now continue dispensing fuel. Awon oil industry worker

you can't expect Dangote to buy crude oil with higher price from NNPC and then sell it at lower price or subsidize it for the public.
Re: Dangote Slams PENGASSAN Over Disruption Move by npppact: 2:09pm On Sep 28, 2025
Since Dangote Refinery is a private company, it’s wrong for NUPENG to demand compulsory membership.

In a private enterprise, workers’ freedom of association is protected by law , they can decide whether to join NUPENG, another union, or remain unaffiliated.

NUPENG can campaign to organize workers in the refinery, but cannot impose membership.

Globally, in private sector refineries, union recognition comes only when a majority of workers voluntarily agree and collective bargaining rights are formally established.

I'm of the strong view that Dangote Refinery, union membership must be by workers’ choice, not by NUPENG’s demand.Since Dangote Refinery is a private company, it’s wrong for NUPENG to demand compulsory membership.

No
No law
The law only states they are free to join if they are willing without fear of victimization
Now ask your question again
