Dear Nairalanders, it has come to my attention that some Nigerian banks are found of sending 3 different SMS alerts on every single transaction and all the alerts debited from the account.
Main transaction, Commission and VAT. This is pure exploitation and broad day robbery by the bank managements.
I want the arms of the government responsible for regulation banks activities should look into this evil acts.
Thank you.

I noticed this too, and I just got charged more than 1k for this, plus some lesser charges in multiple places. when FirstBank was acting funny with me, I messaged them on twitter, but they didn't respond. I had to visit their branch as I needed a quick resolution. as i keep saying, Nigeria is a low trust society. even Nigerians know how inconsequential they are, reason why they castigate injustice in western nations while festering in their evil. everyday, I strive to be different from them.
