Brendaniel:You can blame the Lagos State government for such negligence but you can't fault the Lagos state government for the demolition of those illegal properties, however late they come to do the demolition. The Lagos state government must have been notifying them of the disapproval of such building but they must have been bribing their way through until the order came from the executive government of Lagos state to demolish the illegal structures. |

Wallade:So why is the Lagos state government not prosecuting those involved in bribe collection under the state government? Is the government not interested in weeding off those spoiling its image? |

Brendaniel:To prosecute anyone for giving and taking bribe, the giver of the bribe must make the allegations with substantial proofs and then the receivers can be arrested and prosecuted accordingly. Please note that both giver and receiver, where proven, committed a crime punishable by law. Please, can you tell your Igbo developers that might or must have given bribe and have proofs to come up with their allegations to the Lagos State government through petitions. They can also be advised to go to court if they are aggrieved or have a case to prove. |

Let one or two state governors make land allocations for business investments in their states for those willing to relocate their business and let them gradually relocate their businesses. I can bet on it, in years times to come, Lagos will feel the effect of all these not well thought out actions. Time will tell. |

owobokiri:Whataboutism will not save you from the wrath of your hosts who you’ve relentlessly provoked with tactless utterances. Same nonsense you guys did using Nnamdi Kanu/Radio Biafra under PMB - insulting and provoking northerners because their own was President. Gladly that one was caught and caged, while the SE grapples with the political consequences of such tactless lack of diplomacy. Shape up, or ship out. |

Hedonisco:No matter how much power change hands, you won't have what's mine, unless I willingly give it to you. Your fathers tried more than this, you know it ended in premium tears, Lagos is some people's home land, and the owners have the right to use the lands as they like. |

Wallade:+1000000 likes for you. The scramble for Lagos is like the scramble for and partition of Africa, where the real owners were systematically emasculated and subjugated. If you know the number of indigenes that died during the Maroko relocation, I lost three uncles in that terrible experience. They gather themselves in Lagos from everywhere in this country, hiding under federal government agencies, to share ancestral lands in Lagos. Imagine Atiku is the landlord of 1,004 flats on V/I, and there are still more, in Ikoyi. Those are the kinds of nonsensical underground runs going on in Lagos, since independence. Later they'll band themselves together to shout Tinubu Ole, e no go beta for Omo onile. At least the Omo onile has rights to the lands, na him papa get am. What I don't understand are those crying up and down, why they should break laws and expect a pat on the back. |

casualobserver:Firstly, at the last minute of Buhari Government, about a Week to handover, there were many appointments made. I remembered vividly one of the last appointments was that of the Tradefair board. I knew it was because of TINUBU. I visit Tradefair and Alaba often. I know any Lagos native indigene that is in Government will never be happy the way things are going on. Lagos with almost 65%% taken by water leaving less than 40% for land use. Large portion of the small land is now colonised by Federal Government for special usage. It is an unwritten law that any attempt by the Federal Government to use the land for other purpose other than what it is intended would have to be settled by both parties. The tussle between Tinubu and Obasanjo over old Federal Secretariat has shown that Federal Government cannot use Land allocated by State Government to it for other purpose and the ownership cannot be transferred. Tradefair board doesn't have power to sell land given to Federal Government for Tradefair purpose by Lagos State to individual traders. Federal Government cannot collect Land for Tradefair purpose and sell it to individuals. Lagos State Government jurisdiction covers any market operating within Lagos. I think Attorney General of the Federation should enlighten people on this. |

Brendaniel:Stop defending what’s not. EVERYBODY knows that property is a government property, and instead of you accusing those who built illegally on it, you are still accusing the government. Is it not the height of foolishness for someone to sell lots or give you approval to build on a well known government property? If you believe it is unfair, I have 2 plots of land inside Muritala International Airport for 5 million Naira (Give away) |

7lives:I have written about this for several years. The fierce and acidic attacks against Tinubu from the South before election is because of Lagos. All that you wrote above is what I have been saying for years when I was using my personal account ( babaolofin). I relocated to Abuja when IBB left Lagos and was in Abuja throughout the years of ABACHA as Head of State. I observed many things which I will not say here. |

My brother I joined them in buying such lands and take risk only if I know it’s not allocated to any military whether police, army, Navy, airforce etc because I know the havoc they have been steering up all over lagos. Illegality is the order of the day and everyone likes flexing for 9ja. . 7lives: |

professorPABX:Like the commissioner said on TV. There is no need to “enlighten”. The people who bought these lands have lawyers. Any property lawyer knows the law, both in terms of what the land can be used for and who has jurisdiction over planning approvals. People deliberately engaged in illegalities because they have gotten away with it in the past. |
