It has been long since Nigerian club made it to the advanced stage of the CAF competition. I fondly remember the days of Enyimba. |

Orlandoo:Both Remo stars and Rivers United have qualified to the next preliminary round of the CAF champions league. I hope they qualify for group stages, something Nigerian teams have not achieved in a while. Nigeria really needs to invest in sports development especially in the domestic level. The raw talents are out there but not enough resources or facilities to develop them. |

Nigerian football is in a lol situation currently. It's not advisable to give any local footballer a chance to enter the super eagles national team |

Na the Kwara United own pain pass. You've already scored 3 away goals, all you need to do and score at least a goal and try not to concede any. An aggregate of 4-4 against Asante Kotoko sends you through to the next round on away goals. The Asante guys brought their continental football experience to the match and ousted them |

Loads of things wrong with our football... And we are expecting the abroad based professional footballers to come and die on the pitch for us, when they know we don't have choice than to solely depend on their services. A country of over 200 Million people cannot boast of 22 good players in the local league than can make us happy.. Na so so beatings for CHAN... Just look at the supposed leaders of NPFL... shamefully sent packing from confederations cup. Our football has lost its old glory in its entirety....we should declare state of emergency in football! |

GenFunction:Lose grip? How many nations cups have you won? Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt have won more How many caf champions league Enyimba twice I think- one of it, which was very controversial. Egyptian, Congolese, Tunisian clubs have won it multiple occasions How many times have you qualified for the world cup? |

Falseprofet2:All these boils down to infrastructural development. No grassroot sport development. |

As soon as I see as Abia Warriors throway the one goal lead in Uyo at dying minutes of the match,I know dem no go fit survive away match in DR Congo. Then come see Kwara United wey don score 3 goals away, just to come score 1 goal for their house dem no fit. No wonder ordinary Sudan beat us 4 kondo for the last CHAN. Nigeria football system dey in a shamble |

Until NFF do CAF politics to ensure our teams play their home matches at home, not away from home, as it's the practice,we won't achieve meaningful results. Home turfs are critical in winning home matches. Not technically away from home. Kwara United couldn't have crashed out if the match was staged in Ilorin,Their home turf. Ditto Abia warriors in ABA or umuahia. NFF should look into this. Most of the stadiums approved across Africa are not better than our home turfs. |

The truth is that the Nigerian professional league is a glorified amateur setup in all ramifications; the welfare is poor, management is disgusting, and the facilities are an eyesore. Just go to South Africa, Egypt, or even Tanzania and see how their leagues are managed. Nigerian club sides will not make any meaningful impact on the continent until we get the basics right. I like the management of Remo Stars, but they have a giant hurdle to cross in Mamelodi Sundowns to make it to the group stage of the CAF Champions League. |
