Good evening Boss, Pls I just received a mail from ircc this, Thank you for your interest in coming to Canada. I have reviewed your temporary resident visa (visitor visa) application and supporting documentation to assess whether you meet the requirements for a visitor visa (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/ services/visit-canada/eligibility.html). This includes assessing whether you are coming to Canada temporarily for the reason(s) you describe in your application. I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/I-2.5/index.html) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/ index.html). I am refusing your application. • The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application. • Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable) To get help with understanding your temporary resident application refusal and what you can do next, visit: https://www.cic.gc.ca/visit-visiter/en/refusal-visa-application. Next Steps: • If you decide to apply again, know that: ○ your new application will be assessed on its own merits, ○ you must resubmit a new application and all relevant supporting documents and pay a new temporary resident application fee, and ○ your new application may be refused unless it is supported by new or different information that would satisfy the officer that you meet all application requirements. Pls what does d above response mean, and pls, is there anything I can do to appeal or better still when should I re apply again, pls guide me on what next to do. Thanks a million. |

You are right using the new portal with a US visa, without US visa using the new portal is hard. I also know someone who has a US visa and used the new portal yet was refused just last month, I don't just understand frankly.. I feel it's just depends on the Visa officer. Usually the old GC key works better. hayatou27: |

hayatou27:Old portal or new portal, those who will be denied will still be denied, and those who qualify for the visa will get the visa. Before the Justin Trudeau visa wave, the Canadian visa was one of the most difficult visas to obtain, especially from the early 2000s to 2014. The reasoning was that it was relatively easy to get a U.S. visa since the U.S. had a higher chance of deporting people if their asylum claims failed. In contrast, Canada made visas much harder to get because asylum claims were rarely denied. But that all changed. https://www.collingwoodtoday.ca/national-news/trudeau-pushing-softer-approach-to-temporary-visas-less-focus-on-risk-of-overstaying-6527524 |

hayatou27:Congratulations Please quick question, please is etax certificate the same thing as TCC, cos what I got from LIRS shows my tax remittance for the previous years. I asked about that of 2025 and they said TCC shows only previous years I was thinking it will be better to show a transaction history that shows that I’ve been paying tax all year but there’s no official statement like this on the portal Do you think the TCC is enough or I need to get a supporting documenting? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by hayatou27: 7:31pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
The TCC is not compulsory, the E tax certificate is that plastic card issued by LIRS. mhoreh: |

Judawoo:With all these, the visa was still refused. Is Canada the heaven on earth? I believe that the visa officers are jealous of the applicant because they themselves don't have such amount of money. |

Hello please I have submitted my application and did my biometric and it has been updated in my portal. Please what next I applied for vv |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oluayebenz: 7:49am On Sep 28, 2025 |
hayyawithme:Seriously 😳 I have seen such case so many times, most of these embassies will most likely denied you if you submit huge account statement. I would say they are jealous true true 😂 |

hayatou27:But hey, isn’t the new portal only for first time applicants? I used it once and when I tried to use it again they said I wasn’t eligible to. As for the US visa part, I think I agree because you’ll be asked for it specifically and even asked to put the visa number |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by adelforreal: 1:32pm On Sep 28, 2025 |
In Nigeria, Tax Clearance Certificates are issued on preceding year basis and this usually covers the last three years (i.e 2022, 2023 and 2024 in this instance). Hence, it poses no issue if it is used for any official purpose including visa application. All the best. mhoreh: |

Please house is it true Canada don't do interviews for visit visa only when visa is out you come to embassy to submit your passport |

| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mhoreh: 7:39pm On Sep 28, 2025 |
adelforreal:Thank you, please do I need to show anything for the current year or the TCC is enough ? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by olasubomy: 8:24pm On Sep 28, 2025 |
mhoreh:The TCC should be enough for tax records and only reveal the tax remitted for prior years. That of the current year won't be reflected until annual returns are filed in 2026 and the tax authorities update the employees' records based on their individual Tax Payer IDs. You don't need to worry about current-year tax as your payslip shows you are still employed, and your salary still passes the standard payroll system. The same applies in Canada, as annual returns are filed with CRA based on tax deducted from employees and remitted by the employer in the prior year. TCC is not a mandatory document, as Hayatou 27 has mentioned, but there is no harm in adding it if, in your judgment, it strengthens your home ties. |

Your e tax certificate is okay but if you dont have , get tax receipt from your employer that deduct your taxes, and if you are a business owner, you will have to do direct assessment with LIRS and they advise on how much to pay. mhoreh: |

I applied for Canada Visit Visa on 9th September and Got refused 29th September. It hurts me so bad that I feel Ircc do not consider Family and lacks empathy and compassion. My wife is very sick and scheduled for a Major life and death surgery One of the Biggest Govt. hospital sent me invitation Letter , including doctors telling them I'm needed to be present due to the complexity of the Surgery. Yet I was refused Visa and reason which I attached. Financial reasons. I earn over 18 million Naira monthly in Salary and commission I attached my pay stubs and also letter from the Company which I'm the Executive director. I support my Wife and child, I send over 5 million naira to them for Rent and upkeep I have a 2 years old child who is a Canadian citizen. My first refusal was I did not attach a marriage Certificate.. Reapplying, I attached it with various evidence of marriage. Now, there excuse is I do not have access to my own funds ![]() I was shockedI didn't just have money stuck up, I perform and run the account so well. I attached bank statement of my wife with over $55,000 and my own Balance which is super over my wife Balance. But instead they said over $100k is insufficient for a 3 weeks visit ? I'm worried my wife has no one to stay with her during this surgery, in fact the Canadian Govt. has spent over $1million on her health. I am forced to believe these guys do not really pay attention to Visit Visa Application. These guys has no human feeling even for genuine family, I have not seen my daughter ever she was born, her mom which is my wife is going in for one of the most complex surgery you can ever think of.. Please I need an advice on what next to do. Her surgery date is in less than a month and I need to be there .. Do I reapply? If I do what other document should I add, I added almost every financial document you can think of in the earlier application. Please find reason for refusal and advice me

fastcars0000:I am sorry about this development, considering the time-sensitive nature of the urgent need for you to travel. I would have suggested a "Letter of Reconsideration", but since this has no timeframe and it is unclear if the officer would consider re-opening the file, the best approach would be to reapply, but let your next application show more details explaining each of the officers' concerns under subheadings. Plan to include a detailed letter of explanation to be uploaded to the "Additional Document section" Summarised thoughts below that come to mind: 1. Commence the letter with an introductory paragraph introducing yourself, your position, what you do, your position as of the date you joined the company and your present role. (This would make sense, especially if you rose through the ranks in your present employment). In this same paragraph, state your intention to travel is to support your wife emotionally, who is scheduled to go through a medical surgical operation on [state the date] and include the date you intend to arrive in Canada and the planned exit date. Refer the officer to the supporting documents and the section where this is uploaded on the portal. NB: Supporting documentation would be a letter of invitation from your wife (let her make it emotional), a letter of invitation from the hospital, as you have stated, an HR confirmation of employment, or a letter of leave approval from management or your line manager ( the letter should state the duration of leave and these dates should reconcile with the planned entry and exit date you declare on IRCC portal) Let the subsequent paragraph commence with wording like, I hereby refer to your IRCC official refusal notes dated XX XX XX uploaded on my IRCC Portal account. I want to address each of these concerns honestly and truthfully for your ease of review: 1. The purpose of your visit to Canada is not Consistent with a Temporary stay: Re-affirm your planned entry and exit date and the need to return to your job on XX XX XX as declared in your application portal and consistent with supporting leave of approval, being your source of income. Additional points may be the need to travel back with your wife and kid against your planned exit date in case of the need for further care. 2. Your Current employment situation does not show that you are financially established in your country of residence. Politely state what you earn annually and break it down monthly ( for each amount in Naira, also state the equivalent in CAD). Refer the officer to the attached salary bank statement and recent copies of the payroll slip, Promotion Letters if applicable. You can also obtain a bank reference letter and my bank statement certificate. In this section, state the amount you have set aside, leaving an extra buffer in cash in case of unforeseen contingencies. The amount indicated as being set aside should tally with what you fill out on the IRCC Portal questionnaire. Don't forget to always refer them to where the supporting document is uploaded. 3. Your Assets and Financial Situation do not show you are financially established: Refer them to the section above and re-state where they can find these supporting documents. If you have any property in your name. Attach it as well. 4. You have significant Family Ties in Canada: I have my wife and kid in Canada, but I have no economic or financial situation that would compel me to remain in Canada. My source of income from employment is from [state full name of company and where it is located ] located in Nigeria, which requires physical presence based on my position and responsibilities to oversee these critical functions in the office. For full transparency, Proof of employment, HR reference letter, and Current payslip, C of O (if any landed property or buildings) is uploaded on XXXX section of the IRCC portal for your review. IRCC Invitation letter Guide: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/letter-invitation.html Finally, you can conclude your letter of explanation with wording like the following: I understand I must abide by Canada's rules and regulations for my XX-week stay. I confirm that I am in good health and would not be a burden to the Government of Canada. I also confirm that all information and declarations in my application are accurate. I do not have any criminal records or immigration-related convictions. I declare that all questions have been answered truthfully and honestly in good faith. Sign the letter with your name; your wife should also sign hers. Make your explanation letter polite and diplomatic, but factual. You can have a trusted friend or professional review the letter with you repeatedly before you upload it to submit. I hope you are favoured in your next attempt. |

Submitting too many documents is not a good sign and also getting so much refusal doesn't look good for future application. I don't even know what to advice |

fastcars0000:What is ur wife status in canada? Student ,permanent resident or citizen? You once refused in march 2025 still same hospital invitation? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by funkyy598: 7:35pm On Sep 29, 2025 |
fastcars0000:It’s easy to blame the visa officer and call them inhuman, but the reality is that many of our own people have misused the visa system. We rank among the top offenders for overstaying visas, submitting fake documents, presenting bogus bank statements (sometimes even with the backing of banks), and filing false asylum claims. India is now facing a similar challenge, with visa rejection rates rising. That’s why we must take responsibility and acknowledge our role in creating this situation. Also, keep in mind that visa officers look at more than just your bank balance. They may assess factors like your travel history, your wife’s status in Canada, and even her status at the time your child was born. For example, did she arrive in Canada already pregnant, or did she travel back and forth before giving birth? Your child is now 2 years old, yet your wife could easily board a plane to visit you in Nigeria or even travel to London ,Dubai or Turkey.if money weren’t an issue. These are the kinds of details that can shape an officer’s decision. And if she is already a permanent resident, the question also arises: why are you applying for a visitor visa instead of qualifying for residency yourself? |

[/quote]Oh I am so sorry for this. I think the major reason why you were denied is not stating clearly your source of fund even though large enough. I am saying this from experience as I got a visa approval today. I applied 4th September did biometrics 8th September. I used my savings account as POF Wic I transferred 15m into a week before application making 17m in total. Few days back I asked a question on this forum if I can send additional documents through web form to explain source of funds but no one responded but I did anyway on the 22nd September and got a message on 26th that they recieved them. I am a first time applicant, I applied before stumbling on this forum and realized my supporting documents were insufficient…had to send more documents through the web form twice within the waiting period. |
