Unless it is legalized/legitimized—voted into law as such— before January 2026, Nigeria cannot rationally move forward with plans to begin taxing prostitution at that time. Declaring that the income earned by individuals is taxable is completely removed/different from declaring that prostitution sector — via the services provided by prostitutes— will be directly taxed for the services they provide. Read the OP again! 🥱🥱🥱

To be fair to Tinubu, the same applies in Singapore. There is a certain amount you will earn as an individual that attracts the tax authorities to question you on the source of that income. But I think this is the first time a developing country is implementing it to the end. Trust me, many other African countries will copy us.

Seems these ppl want to collect a personal income tax from every alert an individual gets so if engineer bola sends 50million of customer money to engineer kunle..a particular percentage is taxed and when he needs the money and kunle resents the money another tax is debited look like polytaxation or multiple taxation. Ppl better adapt digital currencies for their transactions.
