Osun 2026: Oyetola reaffirms readiness to return APC to govt

...lauds party loyalists' consistency, steadfastness

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola on Monday reaffirmed the commitment and readiness of the leadership and members of the Nigeria's ruling party- the All Progressives Congress, APC to return to government in Osun State come 2026.

This is even as the Minister applauded the continued peace, unity and cohesion reigning within the organs of the party in the state.

Oyetola spoke in Iragbiji, his country home, at the special prayer session organised in honour of his 71st birthday anniversary, by his friends and political associates.

The former Osun State Governor commended the consistency and steadfastness of the loyalists of the party thus far, saying "your unwavering commitment to the unity, oneness and progress of the party keeps us going."

Oyetola, who acknowledged the successes recorded by the party overtimes, urged the party leaders and members to remain resolute and steadfast in their collective efforts to return to government next year.

He expressed profound gratitude to the organizers of the birthday prayer and party, describing it 'a worthy gesture.'

Earlier, the guest lecturer, Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhyideen Salman, charged politicians and political office holders on equality and sincerity in their actions and inactions.

The renowned Islamic cleric emphasized the need for the strict adherence to the principles of equality and fairness in administering the affairs of the people, noting that Allah is for those who keep to His commandments.

Sheikh Salman, who lauded Oyetola's kind heart and philanthropic gesture, called on all to inculcate the spirit of generosity in whatever position they found themselves.

Family, friends, professional and political associates of the celebrant had earlier assembled at the Ilerioluwa campaign office, Ogo-oluwa where party took place.

“By God’s special grace, our party will emerge victorious in the forthcoming 2026 gubernatorial election. I thank God for the way things are going with our party, how we have been able to stand in unity. I want to encourage us to continue in that suit and ensure that peace and unity reign in the party, because that is how we can emerge victorious in 2026,” Oyetola said.

it's not about selfish interests but about been loyal to the core here. This same Adeleke sacked over 20,000 workers and 3 kings in his government. So I should be defending him with his bad government abi. reason with me now. You are never from Osun State, you will never know what's happening to our economy currently. Adeleke will be remove from government.

This under performer is best advised to be quiet and reflect on his dismal performance as a single term Osun State Governor. His tenure turned out to not touch the lives of the citizens! As it stand Adeleke will reclaim Osun but it will not be an easy task at all, he lack leadership knowledge and could not unite his political party but the people of Osun will still give him a second chance.

It's a national problem caused chiefly by the president but I agree with you that Mr. Adeleke have performed poorly. The question remains who's more competent? Oyetola? No nah!!

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.
