A Nigerian lady has gone viral after strongly advising people to stop using sponges of any kind while bathing.

In a trending video, she held up a sponge as an example and explained that scrubbing the skin with it leads to what she described as “micro tears” – tiny cuts on the skin. According to her, these small openings allow micro-organisms to penetrate, which can result in skin infections.
She further explained that the skin naturally produces oil that protects the body, and constant scrubbing with sponges strips this protective oil away. This, she said, makes people feel itchy and uncomfortable after bathing.

The lady admitted that it might be “too late” to give such advice since many people are already used to bathing with sponges, but she still felt the need to warn Nigerians.

In her words:
“Don’t use sponge to bathe, I no say e don dey too late for me to advise una. I no say una be my oga and madam.”
However, she noted that people who engage in hard, dirty jobs might still need to use sponges for proper cleaning, but those working in offices or doing light jobs should completely avoid them.

The grime between thighs should always be removed using a sponge. Beauty soaps are challenging when implemented, a sponge and medicated soap is essential for it.

Lies.. but it all falls on the weather humidity. In Europe were the moist is low and lack of dust they use foam to scrub their body. While in Africa here and Nigeria precisely we use spong to scrub off dust from our skin..
Where is it advisable is not to use spong on your face.

Nonsense...frm red meat is bad to alcohol is bad ...bt our ancestors use sponge wey strong n ate alot of red meat n drank alcohol bt still refused to die at 100

Total rubbish everybody wants to trend.

the other day, they said washing hair with shampoo is bad, and that the scalp is self cleansing, and the oils protect the scalp. they also said the ear is self cleansing, and that we shouldn't clean the ears. one even said bathing with soap is not healthy, now this.

Grass fed red meat is nutrient dense.
Who nor dey eat am, nai know.
Eggs, the same thing.
Organ meat like liver,the same thing.
Moderate fresh unadulterated palm wine is cool too.
Eat organically and use sponge to bath.

She is not wrong, those ignorami up there are being resistant for no reason. Unless you're caked in sweat and grime constantly, there's no good reason to always use a sponge, especially those rough ones.

She is actually right...
There is no dirt on earth that ordinary soap and water cannot thoroughly clean .
