President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday dismissed allegations of religious persecution in Nigeria, describing them as “a lie from the pit of hell”, News360 Nigeria reports.

He made the remark while speaking at a book launch and project commissioning in Owerri, Imo State, where he also highlighted the country’s progress in healthcare delivery.

Tinubu said Nigeria has made remarkable progress in healthcare delivery, noting that the country now has well-equipped hospitals capable of treating critical conditions such as cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

“Today, Nigeria can say confidently that we have well-equipped hospitals and we can treat critical illness such as cancer and other illnesses. We are investing in the welfare of our people,” the president stated.

He also cautioned against constant criticism of the country, urging Nigerians to acknowledge the gains made since independence.

“Those who are talking ill of the country should stop doing so. Sixty-five years of independence is not a joke. We are proud of our forefathers,” Tinubu added.
