Our Electoral umpire is no longer independent It is now an arm of the current FG.
INEC needs total overhauling for it to meet up it's responsibility of conducting Free, Fair and credible elections in this country. The ~~winner~~ buyer of 2023 presidential election was announced at mid-night when 90% of Nigerians were asleep.

Not only Osinbajo, bright leaders like Fashola, Fayemi, Ambode, very nearly Sanwo-olu are all portrayed as betrayers as soon as they dared to dream or become independent. Tinubu is in his eighties. Which contemporary politician will the Southwest look up towards afyer his reign. Kwankwaso and other Northern leaders left Buhari and even contested against him but they remain relevant and no Norrherner calls them betrayers merely for doing so.

You can't compare the relationship Tinubu and Osinbajo had with Buhari and Kwankaso

..if we want free and fair election .. electronic voting should be introduced in 2027 election not manual polling unit voting ...and direct transmission of election results direct to the INEC irev results portal .. and the.president should not have the right and power to appoint INEC chairman,..this is the electoral reforms and amendment they should implement

THE DISASTROUS SLIDE OF NIGERIA ALONG THE SLOPE OF DESPAIR AND EXTINCTION COULD BE ARRESTED IF THE CONFAB IS WELL MANAGED AND THE OUTCOMES ARE PRAGMATIC, RESOURCEFUL, JUST, FAIR, AND PATRIOTIC.

FOR THE SAKE OF RESCUING THE NATION, AND TO ENHANCE THE CREDIBILITY OF THE PROCESSES, THE PARTICIPANTS MUST NOT BE DRIVEN BY SELF-INTERESTS AND AMBITIONS. (A) THE PRESIDENT, AS AN INTEREST PARTY IN THE GAME, SHOULD NOT BE NOMINATING KEY ELECTORAL FUNCTIONARIES LIKE THE INEC CHAIRMAN, INEC MEMBERS, THE CJN, IGP, AND OTHER SECURITY SERVICE CHIEFS. THE NOMINATION AND TERMINATION OF THE PRESIDING OFFICERS OF THESE CRITICAL INSTITUTIONS SHOULD BE THE PREROGATIVE OF AN INDEPENDENT BODY OF PEOPLE OF INTEGRITY WITH PROVEN INCORRUPTIBLE PAST RECORDS FROM THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS.

(B) A WEBSITE ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE FLOATED WHERE THE NAMES OF CONTESTANTS AND THE SUBMITTED DOCUMENTS ARE PUBLISHED. THOSE WHO BELIEVE SOME CONTESTANTS ARE UNFIT TO CONTEST THE ELECTIONS CAN USE THE WEBSITE AS A PLATFORM TO VENTILATE THEIR REASONS AND UPLOAD THEIR DOCUMENTARY PROOFS.

(C) ALL DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED BY THE HOPEFUL CONTESTANTS SHOULD BE SUBJECTED TO SERIOUS SCRUTINY AND VERIFICATION, AND THOSE WHO SUBMIT FORGED, FAKED OR DUBIOUSLY PROCURED DOCUMENTS OF ANY KIND SHOULD BE SWIFTLY PROSECUTED WITH A JAIL TERM NOT LESS THAN 10 YEARS. ANY ONGOING CRIMINAL PROSECUTIONS OF ANY CANDIDATE FOR ELECTION MUST BE CONCLUDED EARLY ENOUGH TO DETERMINE THE ELIGIBILITY FOR THE CONTEST. FOR THE SAKE OF FAIRNESS, FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO CONTEST, THEIR NAMES SHOULD BE PUBLISHED AT LEAST A YEAR BEFORE THE ELECTION TO ALLOW ENOUGH TIME FOR THE CONCLUSION OF ELIGIBILITY-RELATED ISSUES.

(D) THOSE CONVICTED FOR CRIMINAL CASES, WHETHER WITHIN OR OUTSIDE NIGERIA, SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY BARRED FROM CONTESTING ELECTIONS.

(E) AN ELECTORAL BOARD FOR DEBATES SHOULD BE FORMED AT SENATORIAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVELS TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM WHERE CONTESTANTS ARE INVITED TO ADDRESS THE PUBLIC ON ISSUES OF INTEREST, AND ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM THE PUBLIC. THE BOARDS' MEMBERS SHALL BE SEASONED JOURNALISTS WITH CREDIBLE AND TRANSPARENT RECORDS OF SERVICE. THE DEBATES SHOULD START NOT LESS THAN 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTIONS WITH A MINIMUM OF 5 DEBATES. REFUSAL TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DEBATES BY ANY HOPEFUL CONTESTANT, OR TO MISS TWO CONSECUTIVE DEBATES, IS DEEMED A VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL FROM THE ELECTORAL CONTEST.

(F) ANY VIOLENCE TRACEABLE TO ANYONE WISHING TO CONTEST AUTOMATICALLY LEADS TO DISQUALIFICATION.

(G) ALL HOPEFUL CONTESTANTS SHOULD SUBMIT A SWORN COURT AFFIDAVIT TO ABSTAIN FROM ACTS OF VIOLENCE, MONETARY INDUCEMENT, AND FRAUD. THE AFFIDAVIT SHOULD ASSERT AUTOMATIC SELF-DISQUALIFICATION FROM ELECTIONS WHERE BREACHES ARE COMMITTED.

THESE SUGGESTIONS ARE NOT EXHAUSTIVE, RATHER PORTRAY THE ESSENCE OF THE CONFAB AND THE NATURE OF THE GLOBAL EXPECTED OUTCOMES.

We just had the best-ever election in Nigeria in 2023. The BVAS made sure of that, no more writing figures in the back offices of political parties.

River State alone went from 1.5 million fake votes for Jonathan in 2015 to just total valid votes of 523651 in 2023.
What does that tell you was happening before the BVAS? The parties were just writing the figures that they wanted.
NO election is perfect, even here in the US, they are constantly arguing about how to outdo each other.

Let's even assume that your narration is right (which I know to be false). How many results papers were tipexd? Didn't all party agents agree to the correction? Why didn't your principal bring those party agents to the Supreme courts with results that were not tipexd to show that something nefarious had happened?

These are common-sense questions that we should be asking, not just following the crowd with false narratives that have no basis in reality.

At the very least, Obi should have appeared at the court with hundreds of result sheets from his party agents, which showed different results from what was declared by INEC.
He didn't show any because his agents signed off on the result sheet declared by INEC, and those were the right results.
