'Governor Alia said the airport would be built along Makurdi-Gboko road to ameliorate the sufferings of Benue people.'

People who are being killed like chicken and lack good roads, electricity and potable water need an airport?

I thought this man was a Reverend father?

Lol. @him. Misplaced priority. Tackle the security first.
Is never a misplaced priority. Benue is the food basket of nation and getting an airport and processing zone, if positioned well can attract huge investment in food processing. You don't know his effort of tackling insecurities in the state. The two can be achieved together.

What do they need airport for again?
Instead of creating jobs and industries.
Father Father!!
some of you can't really understand simple english. He will build an export processing zone on one side and opposite is a combination of international, domestic and cargo airport. Go and Google the meaning of export processing zone cos it is obvious you don't know about it. Don't expose yourself to laughter here.

Willie2015:
There is an airport.

Airpeace used to come weekly to load passenger.

Buhari stopped the operation over grudge with Ortom.

No need for another airport... A misplaced priority indeed.
why is it so difficult for some of you to read and understand. The governor is proposing an export/import processing zone and it required an airport. He said he will build a three in one airport to take care of international, domestic and cargo traveling. I just hope you were not among those who used to call buhari illiterate back then. Go and Google the meaning of export\import processing zone and get educated about it. Benue need to tap their agricultural potentials and that is why a processing zone is required. So you guys didn't even do agric science in school. Na wah oh. Education nowadays has gone. I knew processing zone back in secondary school.

Nassaraa state wasted billions building same Cargo airport that's just 120 KMS from Benue and till date it's moribund ..Maikudu already has FAAN airport that's heavily underutilized with capacity to handle heavy planes like the C130 cargo yet this man says he wants to build another that nobody will ever use ..which cargo plane will agree to come to Benue , who is going to pay for their service? Every airline that has gone to Benue have pulled out after just one month due to low Patronage

how will building an airport ameliorate the sufferings of Benue people?
the airport is to complement the export/import processing zone. Let me break the meaning cos it is the reason you and others are condemning the airport project. The processing zone will attract foriegn and local investors who will tap the agricultural potentials of Benue by setting up food manufacturing companies in the place. It just like free trade zone where you built and put everything in place, like electricity, good road network and others. He now need an airport which is why he said it will be at opposite the processing zone. It will be combination of international, domestic and cargo airport.

did I ask for the meaning of anything that you are breaking down?

is it the absence of an airport that is making the people of Benue to suffer?

Governor Alia said the airport would be built along Makurdi-Gboko road to ameliorate the sufferings of Benue people.

Is the existing airport not located in the same Makurdi ?

What exactly are you exporting, importing and processing in the midst of insecurity ?

Even those of us that have rice farms in Makurdi outskirts abandoned those farms...?

D fear of Fulani herdsmen is the beginning of wisdom ...

Dont just sit down in the corner of ur room and start writing rubbish..up and down..

Anytime you see a Nigerian governor fake father or not building a airport, just know it's an overinflated white elephant project meant to loot the state coffers dry.

More like Gov. Allia set to embezzle in legal way. Just as Umahi is doing via coastal biscuits

Re: Benue Gov. Alia To Build Airport, Export/import Processing Zone by BenuePolitician(op):
Just scrolling down and going through some ignorant, foolish, miniature comments from people who very well know little about Benue State.

For sake of clarity:

1. Benue State does not have a state owned airport. The Nigerian Air force airport belongs to the Air force which before you land there, you must gain express approval from the Nigerian Air force Headquarters which could be lengthy and most times unapproved.

2. BENUE STATE NEEDS AN AIRPORT
For an agrarian state that Boasts of the Largest yam Market in the whole of Africa, exportation is the best way of raking in higher revenue.
So having a state owned and operated Airport will:

1. FACILITATE EXPORTATION OF BENUE FARM PRODUCE TO OTHER COUNTRIES
2. DRAW INVESTORS IN TO BENUE STATE TO INVEST IN AGRICULTURE
3. CREATE MANY JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR BENUE CITYZENS
4. ENCOURAGE AND FACILITATE INFLUX OF HIGH PROFILE BUSINESS MEN AND INDIVIDUALS INTO BENUE STATE WHO MIGHT BE SCARED OF COMING INTO BENUE STATE BECAUSE OF FULANI BLOODY TERRORISTS WAITING IN THE BUSH.

In Conclusion.

The Airport is a very commendable development which is sure to increase Benue GDP growth upwards and GOV Hyacinth Iormem Alia deserves commendation and praise for this wonderful initiative.

Note: Before you speak, speak with sense backed up with credible resourceful facts.

PS. DONT BE AN ONLINE AGBERO angry
