You don't need to reply we all know the truth. That was how he came running to Lagos the other time when his brother claimed his building was demolished, we later got to know it wasn't even the his building but a building he was trying to achieve from the rightful owner. He runs to Lagos each time and runs his mouth to please his minions who he know do not have the brain to think for themselves. Despite this clarification and the facts available his headless minions will still come out to praise him and talk from their anus, |

Alaba Rago, a market dominated by Northerners, was demolished few weeks ago, no one has been heard crying foul. Over 2000 shops were demolished in Anambra few months ago, no one raised an eyebrow. Some things are just damn irritating. |

The bolded, below, is the Koko of the matter and I think every Nigerian know those who are emotional and full of histrionics. The anarchic State of affairs in their region today is testimony to how they are not interested in societies governed by law every member of society is duty-bound to respect and abide by. We must decide the kind of society we want - one governed by law or one run by emotions, fueled by political interests. |

Demolitions aren't ethnic--they are legal..Obi and his followers turning law into ethnic drama should be condemned as a whole... Obi's selective concern is not about leadership, but about publicity .. |

Richtaiwo:Imagine Abaribe, a lawmaker of a South East State, marauding the streets of Lagos contentiously over a very sensitive matter considering he is a sitting legislator of a State outside Lagos meaning he should understand the need to respect jurisdictional limit as a serving Senator. This is why Alia, Okpebolo etal never want Obi in their State. They know he wishes to visit to divisively whip up negative sentiments against sitting Governments so he can profit electorally come 2027. What is shown below is crystal clear enough for sane and reasonable Nigerians . Yet these people alone, and their irresponsible leaders, continue on the war path with Yorubas with claims they know are false and incendiary yet hope can bring political gains. I am glad this is happening. Let even the most liberal Yorubas see what is shown below whether they will not agree Obi and his co-travellers are divisive rabble rousers. Here are the facts of the matter: The owners of the building have no approval. They got ample time to regularise their papers when the state government declared last year a general amnesty, which was extended several times. The owners shunned the offer. When Physical Planning officials visited the complex, the gates were locked against them; they were beaten up. The police rescued them. When the government called the owners for talks, they said they would not come; they did not come. Physical Planning and building approvals are within the remit of State Governments. Under the Nigerian Urban and Regional Planning Act (1992, as domesticated by Lagos State’s Physical Planning and Development Regulations), all physical development in any part of Lagos must obtain planning permit/approval from the Lagos State Government through its Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. |

Where was Obi when Soludo did a similar demolishing in Anambra state? |

You can use the cover of non compliance, non approval and lack of permits to achieve your primary aim of targetting a certain group. Yes,when the matter goes to court, the traders would most likely lose because land planning approvals may not have been got or some areas deficit. It's like the average policeman or case in Nigeria:he/she wants to either extort you financially or get you imprisoned for selfish motives or inducement from another party;there would definitely be a matter or document or act he/she can criminally fault a Nigerian for.Does the arrest or in this case demolitions make it right? |

So, it’s now clear that they demolished the buildings not because they were built on canals nor areas designated as roads, but because they did not give “Owomida”. And they couldn’t just seal the buildings but demolished them. And people are cheering this heartlessness. Nsogbu adiro! |

Abdul05:Despite d fact that all my comment on this forum has been against govt of tilumbu..But peter is doing what is irritating me at the moment,,you travel far to come to lagos anytime u feel indigbo are cheated,,but keep mum anytime serious crimes or killings was being meted out by igbos against same igbos in ur domain..I never heard u condemn such atrocities...This is pure hypocrisy mr obi.. U may even decide to allocate more lands to indigbos if u become president to compensate for the years of perceived tortures from lagos govt...So therefore,,as omo oko yoruba wey i be,,my vote goes to articulate.. |

Exousiang01:Yes, he goes where he has a strong political base to protect their interest. It is the same way Tinubu runs to Kaduna and Kano for birthdays and marriages because he wants to strenghten his support base. This is politics, so stop crying. peter Obi is coming! |

I think the main issue here isn’t really the buildings themselves, but the paperwork behind them. If approvals had been obtained from the Lagos State Government as required by law, the demolitions wouldn’t have happened. That said, government also has a responsibility to act earlier. Too often, enforcement comes after people have invested millions, which makes it feel unfair and harsh. Stronger monitoring and timely intervention could prevent these painful situations. At the end of the day, we need a system where rules are respected and enforcement is proactive, not reactive. That way, both the law and people’s livelihoods are protected. |

Peter Obi is called the chief tribalist for a reason. Even here in Anambra, nobody takes him seriously. He is always on the wrong side stoking ethnic tensions. |

LASG approved the buildings before construction. No Igbo would dare build there without approval from LASG. Tinubu came to power, wham, destruction of the livelihood of the Igbos in Lagos became Lagos state official policy. |

No matter how hard he may try, he will never become Nigeria President come 2027. Maybe then, he would rest. Peter is such an hypocrite when it comes to politics |

Richtaiwo:It seems he has some favourite states in the south (outside the SE) that can't do without these commiserations. It's always Lagos, its always Edo state....the two most cosmopolitan states in the whole South, where people and all religions usually live peacefully together. It's seems I need to leave this Lagos ooo, as I can't stand visitors coming everytime to mourn |

So if they had brought money and regularize their whatever you wouldn't have demolished the buildings? That means it has nothing to do with building on canals or drainages |

This reaction even got to show that you had negativity in mind before carrying out that demolition. The thing is, non lagosians are living like slaves in Lagos. The high accomodation cost alone is proof. The earlier we know this, the better for us. Even some yorubas that do not have houses in Lagos are living like slaves Federal government should open the port in the East and see how Lagos state will be a shadow of itself |
| Re: Lagos Government Reacts To Peter Obi's Visit To Trade Fair Complex by Ironfaceman(m): 4:34pm On Oct 01, 2025 |
This position was further clarified and reinforced by The Supreme Court judgment of 2003 (Attorney-General of Lagos State v. Attorney-General of the Federation) that land use and physical planning fall under concurrent jurisdiction, and states retain the authority to regulate development control within their territories, including federal lands, except for core areas like military formations or exclusive federal enclavesThis is a catch. The military or other Federal structures are exclusive. Then why is trade fair different. Military do build without state approval and no physical evaluation from state officials. So if trade fair was in ojo barracks will the state officials go there to demolish too. |

This lagos state government land scam should be looked into. An arm cannot issue permits and tomorrow another arm comes to refute it. People will say do due deligence, how much due deligence is enough deligence? The lagos state government is just running a scam based on land ownership obscurity. The land documents you hold today can be disputed tomorrow. In sane environments the real estate market is not shrouded in mystery. Everyone knows who owns what, and its all public information. I wanted to purchase an apartment, i simply had to go online and confirm the owner is the rightful owner and what inches of the apartment he owns. Very easy. |

Exousiang01:You people will not stop: destroying the livelihood of Northerners in Lagos shall follow by the time no more houses of Igbos are left to demolish. Wich northerners or southerners will like to give Tinubu a second chance in 2027 to continue with this destriction and imposition of harsh economic policies upon Nigerians? We will rather chose another Fulani than Tinubu in 2027. |
