I thought they Said that the buildings were on water ways and canals. So, After PO came and people with video evidence that it is never on the water ways they are now coming up with this one.
But come to think of this: Is Tradefare under the state government? Is it not the federal government property? Why would they now seek another approval from the State if they've already gotten from the Trade Fare Complex Management which is legally empowered by the FG to give such approvals on anything concerning the Tradefare? Even, if the State feel that they should have a stake, why didn't they just seal off those buildings and then Sue the Tradefare complex management based on the powers of who gets what and in what percentage? Is this reason enough to pull down people's investments like that and we still be expecting foreign investors to come.

You can use the cover of non compliance,non approval and lack of permits to achieve your primary aim of targetting a certain group.
Yes,when the matter goes to court,the traders would most likely lose because land planning approvals may not have been got or some areas deficit.
It's like the average policeman or case in Nigeria:he/she wants to either extort you financially or get you imprisoned for selfish motives or inducement from another party;there would definitely be a matter or document or act he/she can criminally fault a Nigerian for.Does the arrest or in this case demolitions make it right?

Why can't the certain group do the rightful thing which is a strong legal basis to sue the government and claim damages? NO, they won't. They will all cry foul play like you and the man called Obi who feel becoming the president of a Nation must be driven by tribal sentiments and display of ignorance. Always going about to stir up emotions of others on wrong reasonings whereas he has done worse too and is not any better.

The solution to Nigeria's problem is beyond Obi or any of these recycled politicians before you come for me thinking I am in support of APC.

So the best thing to do will be to demolish the buildings? If the buildings are yours will you demolish them? This is share wickedness. The government is preaching unity but by their actions they are seriously dividing the country? You are talking about rule of law but even you know that you are not obeying the law. Deep down your mind you know that demolish is not the best option?

I'm a Lagosian, I don't support Lagos state approach on this matter.
Why will you demolish a structure just because they don't have a permit. The best bet is to seal up the place.
I don't support the fact that the Lagos town planing officials were maltreated. This should have been a good reason to seal up the place and take them to court.
A whole lot of properties in Lagos have no permit.
We need to create more enabling environment for businesses to trive in this harsh economy.

How I wish Ogun state governor can wake up, work on Lagos-Sango-Ifo road and Ijoko road which will open up business activities in areas not too far from Lagos.
Lagos is too toxic for any genuine business to trive. A lot of people are ready to move to Ogun state if there are good connecting roads.

So Lagos state can go a demolish structures inside the National stadium without Federal govt permit?? What sort of impunity is all these?

Even the reaction from the Lagos state government goes a long way to clear all doubts that the primary reason the businesses of our neigbours from the East were demolished and destroyed is because of tribal hatred.

The reason given by them can be applied to all states also where the FG has acquired lands to lease out for business purposes.
