Good evening my people,

Please I need your advice on this matter oooh.

I live in Lago state, my landlord increased our rent last year and my rent is 2 months to be expired, he just sent in message to all the tenant that the rent has increased again from #400,000 to #700,000.

Please what can we do as everyone in the house is upset with this madness.

Is there any legal action one can take against this heartless landlord?

Start with discussing with him, first. After all his explanation, you can then renegotiate to reduce the amount.

Negotiate with him or pack out. The cost of things have increased bro. I am currently building a house, I know what I'm going through.

Yes, he can. The contract you signed with him covers only the current year, not the coming year.
But there's a percentage he cannot exceed while increasing the rent.

Anything legal action, legal action, for person property if you think you can't negotiate with him then you look for another place.
