Same demolitions were Carried out in his state and region, but that he was blind to that. It is hard to see a yoruba that will write without tribalism. The lagos government wants them to pay for regularisation then if not for tribalism, demolition is not the answer

LASG leased the land where the Trade Fair Complex is sited to the FG and every structure originally built on that land was duly approved by the state government.

Revenue is accrued to the state through granting of building approvals and subsequent tenement rates.

Your blodas refused to seek the statutory government approval and his under One Nigeria central government banner thinking land allocation to FG means loss of sovereignty over the land to the FG.

All lands in the polity outside the FCT and coastal setbacks belong to the state governments vide the Land Use Act.

This is the first time without pretence that state actors are sponsoring tribalism and bigotry against a people.Moreover,when the Rago market was demolished both they Northern elders,notable northerners and Arewa consultative forum, questioned the motive and asked the Lagos state government to make sure they affected businesses are relocated and established. We never heard the government image makers or Yorubas complain but once they hear Igbos complain,that's when you know they are alive. You can't force a people to vote for you,when you have questionable character.

Please educate yourselves and stop spreading falsehoods. Only a state government can give building permit. Even the federal government need building permit before it can erect a structure in a state except the structure is for defense. The federal govt cannot issue a building permit for any state even if the land belongs to them. The only place the federal govt is authorized to grant building permits is the FCT.

Secondly you don’t compensate for illegality. If Abia chose to compensate maybe the properties were legal and acquired for overriding public interest or they decided to be magnanimous. If you don’t have permit no one is oblidged to compensate you.

Many of the demolitions listed above especially Abia were for overriding public interest, for instance in places where roads needed to be expanded, and the home owners were compensated.
