During his time abroad, Shettima strengthened ties with key international stakeholders, including the United Kingdom and the Gates Foundation. A significant diplomatic win came during his meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, where he secured the Secretary-General’s commendation for Nigeria’s longstanding bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

Economically, the Vice President actively courted global investors, specifically showcasing Nigeria’s massive $200 billion energy transition opportunity. UNGA80 where he disgraced us with an unexpected low IQ speech. The speech writer could have done better. I looked among the cabinet and couldn't find anyone that could have done better.

Gone are the days when Nigerian government appointees and office holders were picked according to competence hinged on Experience, Skills and Knowledge despite political affiliation and tribes.

PBAT was very smart for avoiding the UNGA although sending the wrong signals to preying inquisitive Nigerians and the opposition.

President Donald Trump is well known for his unpredictability might have publicly embarrassed our President.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the CPC bloc of the APC's visit had publicly declared that Nigeria over-shot its revenues target and that "we no longer have to bother about Trump and what he is doing".

That quote sent a message directly to Trump that Nigeria had re-aligned its revenue trajectory without giving a hoot on Trump & his shenanigans.

Tinubu had better avoid the USA if he truly hasn't cleared his issues with the American Courts on the release of the court judgment of his Chicago case.

There is no reason for PBAT no to have been in the UNGA being the most high-level investment pitch event of every calendar year talk less of when Nigeria needs to rally stable FDIs.

Just imagine the waste of resources. APC spent all that money just to come back and count "securing the Secretary-General’s commendation for Nigeria’s longstanding bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council" as a diplomatic win. Are we slaves?
