Yoruba Leaders Order Yoruba Lawmakers To Coordinate Impeachment Of Bola Tinubu by ch214(op): 6:02pm On Oct 02, 2025
LAGOS, NIGERIA – In a historic and fearless display of leadership, Yoruba elders and socio-political leaders have risen to the call of destiny. In a bold and unprecedented move, respected Yoruba leaders have stepped into the storm of Nigeria’s political crisis, issuing a direct and uncompromising order to all Yoruba lawmakers in the National Assembly and House of Representatives: "Initiate the immediate impeachment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

This call, described by many as a defining moment of courage and moral clarity, comes in response to what the elders have termed "gross misconduct, rampant corruption, and an unforgivable betrayal of the Nigerian people.

Gathering under a unified voice in Ibadan, leaders from all corners of Yorubaland—traditional rulers, intellectuals, political heavyweights, and community icons—declared that the time had come to reclaim integrity, justice, and true leadership for the sake of future generations.

At a closed-door emergency summit held in Ibadan yesterday, attended by traditional rulers, elder statesmen, academics, and community leaders from across Yorubaland, the message was loud and clear:

“We, as custodians of Yoruba heritage and conscience, can no longer sit in silence while Nigeria bleeds. President Tinubu has failed. The economy is in ruins, corruption festers, and the hopes of the people have been buried under the weight of deceit and failed promises.”

Their declaration was not just a critique — it was a call to duty. The leaders demanded that all Yoruba lawmakers, regardless of party affiliation, rise above political loyalty and stand with their people in this critical hour.

“This is not about party or tribe; it is about principle,” stated Chief Adebayo Alade, a respected elder.
“President Tinubu has lost the trust of the people. He has violated the core values of Omoluabi. We will not be silent while our land burns.”

The leaders accused the presidency of failed economic policies, deepening hardship, and a betrayal of the democratic promises once cherished by the Yoruba nation.

Under Tinubu's watch, the Nigerian economy has plummeted to historic lows. Inflation has shattered family incomes. Fuel prices have skyrocketed. Millions have been pushed into poverty, while political elites enrich themselves shamelessly.

The leaders laid out a damning list of alleged failures and abuses, including:

Mismanagement of public funds

Protection of corrupt officials

Increasing ethnic tension and insecurity

Disregard for democratic processes and human rights

“This is not just about Tinubu the politician. This is about saving Nigeria from the brink,” said Chief Akinwole Ogunbiyi, one of the elder statesmen at the summit. “If our sons and daughters in the National Assembly fail to act, they too will answer to history.”

In a powerful communiqué released after the summit, the Yoruba leaders declared:

“The Yoruba nation is built on truth (òótọ́), justice (ìdájọ́), and courage (akíkanjú). We now call on every true son and daughter of Odùduwà in Abuja: the time to act is now. Delay is betrayal. Silence is complicity. Impeach Bola Tinubu and restore the dignity of governance in Nigeria.”

Social media has since exploded with reactions, many praising the Yoruba elders for “speaking the truth that others fear to utter.” Hashtags like #YorubaStandTall, #ImpeachTinubuNow, and #EldersOfCourage are trending across platforms.

Whether the lawmakers will obey this bold directive remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: a line has been drawn. The Yoruba leaders have rekindled the ancient spirit of accountability — a spirit that does not bow to thrones but stands for truth, no matter the cost.

For the first time in a long while, many Nigerians are daring to hope — not because of promises from above, but because of courage from within.

Some must not know that Yoruba land is very big, with many large ego people who don't take kindly to being told to obey self appointed 'custodians'.

Some of my Yoruba elders are celebrating with Tinubu, so I'd rather respect myself and use my own brain instead of letting some elders brain for me, thank you very much.

These are not the only Yoruba elders I have.

Deveropers are peak entertainment. Creating fantasies in their heads and running from pillar to post with it, grasping at straws all day long. I really admire their great ability at fooooooling themselves without getting tired.
