You all can see how criminally-minded Festus Osifo and his Ali Baba and the 40 thieves affiliates are.

A private individual opens a $20b company and before one can say Jack Robinson, comes insidious enemies with the intent to ruin his huge investment by conniving with ungrateful employees (monitoring spirits).

Divulging official secrets attracts summary dismissal in any establishment.

Belonging to a union is permitted but, not mandatory since there's freedom of association in our laws

PENGASSAN, hoping to maximize undue profits by way of check-off dues, is trying to make it mandatory.

How I wish Tinubu, working together with the NASS, could outrightly proscribe these rogue unions.

The Dangote Refinery is a national asset and must be jealously guarded against saboteurs.

Thanks for sharing

So technically the core issue is the sharing of confidential info

Not necessarily the existence of the WhatsApp group...
The so-called confidential issue they claim is false. Dangote is trying to run a monopoly in the oil sector and the people there are fighting back and refusing him to.
Re: How Whatsapp Group Led To Sacking Of Workers At Dangote Refinery – Sources by fatboyslym007: 7:49pm On Oct 02, 2025
IF TRUE THEN:
Dangote action was incomplete and ill-advised.
Dangote should have sacked and proceeded to court with evidence of corporate espionage against sacked workers and PENGASSAN...

Public and Private workers of a sector shouldn't be in the same union.
Let there be a law separating this two. They can cooperate as distinct and different entities... Infact, each state union should be autonomous..
THE SENATE SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS.
When Unions of a country become too powerful, its dangerous for that country.

I no believe this sponsored report joor.

No employee will share daily progress report with a third party without their management approval.

All these is to make the employees and PENGASSAN look bad in public eyes.

I am happy that those staff are not coming back to work in the refinery, now that they're no longer oil worker, we want to see how PENGASSAN will protect them from disengagement from Dangote group in the nearest future
They have been redeployed as gate men at obajana cement factory

Nobody is stopping Dangote from going to mine for his own crude oil in Zamfara and Kano States and have his refinery moved to Niger State to process them.

U staff have freedom to join union that defend their interest.. and also ur drivers too..
Failure to allow them join means everything is wrong with that system...
Why do lecturers in private university not join ASUU? Dangote refinery is a private company. Why do the staff think they can join a trade union? Does the refinery belong to NNPC?

Where is the evidence? Did Dangote stop you from building your own refinery? Wait! Is Dangote Refinery the only functional refinery in Nigeria? Where is all this talk about monopoly coming from?

unionisation is a right of workers in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, and this right should be respected....

Once a company has certain number of works..they are allow to form a union ...to be an intermediary between them and the management as individual employee will not have to table their problem each time...rather union will collate all the issue and bring them forward before the employer,..

Dangote wan to rob his staff the right to challenge him...if he can do it alone..he should bring the members of his family to be the loader and also be the engineer....

Try to find of the pay within that system sef...u won't be able to call them oil and gas worker... Compared to other oil and gas companies..

Alot of things u ppl don't knw...u come online to defend what is not ..make ur finding...refine and digest them before u bring it here...e get why

This is very unacceptable! How do you report the activities of your office to outsiders on the foolish promises of getting you protected?

In the first place, sharing of sensitive information in an organization is a crime on its own. No company would ever tolerate that. Not even the federal government!

It is the reason some employees of some organizations are made to sign non-disclosure agreement before asking the newly employed to resume duties.

Now your protectors have succeeded in getting you redeployed to non vibrant sector and it automatically means your continued membership of that association is useless primarily because you will no longer have sensitive information to share.

Las las, you will learn how to face your job as a matter of priority rather than join any association that would put you into trouble. What were you even expecting? That your employer who employed you so you can put food on your table and feed your family will be shut down out of hatred for the progress of the organization that pays you a salary!

People are wicked!!
Seeing all this rant only confirmed to me that Nigerians all have this slave mentality and are all very gullible with a high level of illiteracy roam free. You all should learn how to think critically and stop getting hypnotized so easily. How can you just believe the trash Premium Times wrote up there. na wa for una oo..

Its not corruption is pure wickedness. I see this daily with some of my staff even the ones that will beg you with their life to be employed. And if your business fall they will be the ones to rejoice. I don't give second chances to them, so I support Dangote on this.
You mean in your small kiosk. Hope you are not treating them like slaves oo.. because the heart of a black man is wicked.

Oga leave those people. i already know long ago that Nigerians are gullible and easily hypnotized people. they do not know who had their interest at heart and who doesn't. And they always try to align with their oppressor to oppress them more.

Givin the government more power to deal with you and do you anyhow. Nice one. Nigerians like you are wonderful people. Later you will cry your eyes out when the government of the day follow through with your advice later on when the governmnet starts dealing with Nigerians and you. We know of past NLC and how they succeeded in keeping even the military government on check. Even if NLC failed us with the peanut N70K minimum wage they negotiated with FG but at least they tried to double it from N30K to N70K and before it was just N18. without them minimun wage would still be at N9500 and there is nothing any one of you can do about that and now you still open mouth to tell the governmnet to ban ll union. Wonderful, my friend, you are doing well.

Bring $20billion that he invested.

You are talking as if you are one of the saboteurs.

PENGASSAN killed government owned refineries, and stopped government from sacking non performing staff.

Go to Kaduna refinery junction in the morning you will see multiple million naira SUVs going in as if its a presidential convoys!

Guess who are they?

Non performing staff collecting billions as salary every month.
How do you know that that was what happened. Most of you just like beliveing lies. So what about those ones in civil service why have they not been sacked. have you ever seen or heard of people been sacked from government jobs. Our governmnet and civil service is the bane of corruption. So don't pin that on any union. These same unions are operating in Exxon Mobil, Total E & P, NLNG and co and the companies are still doing very well and raking in millions in profit to date. All these i mentioned are all private companies, so tell me the error of Nupeng or Pengassen in any of those companies. So say what you know, my friend.

Madam, where labor laws end is where the rights of an employer to sack, fire or discontinue an employee contract begins.

There are millions of job seeking Nigerians willing to take up those vacant roles in the refinery

I stand by my point— if you feel like you are not being treated fairly enough, resign and go work at pengassan.

Don't mind the,m bro. The problem of this country is that we have too many educated illiterates among us, and it shows in most of the comments over here. They so hate themselves, and they always try to align with the oppressors so long as it doesn't affect them personally.A bunch of wicked Nigerians. They will laugh off and mock the victims, rejoicing with their oppressors, thinking it will not get to them someday. Then when i was working in dangote Refinery i was regretting and the general saying we all had was assuming there was a strong union there we would not be suffering what we were suffering in the hands of those indians. I joined them during covid period because i loss my former job then, the pay was so poor i never wanted to join, but because i had a familty to feed i decided to join and the role I took up was been occupied by one of the Indian engineers who resigned because he wanted to go be with his family during the COVID time and they couldnt get another Indian to replace him beacuse of the restriction of travels during the covid time, that was why they decided to contact a Nigerian which was me. Even after they were employed, they were rumouring that there were no Nigerians who could do the job, They were shocked to learn I, a Nigerian, could do the job. I met the indian Engineer before he left, and i got the know that I am far more qualified than him, the same international certificate he holds, i have a higher version of it from the training body in the United Kingdom. and he was even earning 5 times my salary. i imagine the irony. Well, i left very fast because i am not the type who lack job for long. I am an international Engineer.

Na wa oo, you blacks can believe anything you read online with a bias mind, shall. No wonder your country is where it is now. The kind of information I guess, they may be sharing might be maybe the pay package of employees by position and how they are treated, nothing more. for one Dangote refinery is an engineering piece and not some financial institution or some for of a secret institution with code secret to keep it safe. make una dey reason well first abeg.
You can believe whatever you want... When you have your own private company or business you are free to allow unions to help you run it.
