Is it true you can't seek asylum from your country? For example, you are in Nigeria and you want Italy to give you Asylum. My research this far is, you have to be in the said country before you can apply for Asylum. 1 Like |

Yes you have to be in the country 1st. So if you want to apply to Italy for asylum you have to be in Italy. There are a small few international charities in Nigeria who help people leave if they feel your reason to apply for asylum is genuine. They dont advertise it but do do it. |

desmondDessi:unless you are from a war torn country and a refugee in a camp. There are refugees from other countries who sought refuge in other Africans countries that are able to get asylum to Europe or America from there. A minority sha. For a Nigerian you have to be in that country |
