Facts as per today. It may not be all sunshine and daisies in Summer. But it is still the Nigerian Center of Excellence.

Many other States have the riverine/marine potential to do something with and work with. They have not explored these. Delta, Bayelsa and especially, Rivers State. Their water ways aren't also very secure either.

They also dont have the supporting infrastructure - like viewing points at boat club, yacht and civic centre, over head bridges and high rises surrounding the race points.

They might even be more beautiful naturally than lagos but events like this are built on supporting infrastructure.


You also make a good point about security though that is a variable that can be controlled for a one- two week period.

I can see only 12 people and 37 guests viewing this topic. Those people that are fighting psychological warfare against Lagos have been defeated. Ever since this game has been put on notice to hold in Lagos there has been wide excitement among Nigerians. DANGOTE group, First Bank and other Corporate institutions are supporting the game one way or the other. The gods of Lagos and the Wealth of the Seas will continually answer for them.

No matter who the governor is in Lagos, I think there's a template of pace setting that each serving governor always follow and would try to out do the previous governor.

This is what leadership should be about and something all state should follow

Bola Tinubu as Governor was better than Buba Marwa

Fashola, did better than Tinubu

Ambode tried so much, but had just 4 years

Sanwoolu took over and did things Ambode didn't do like the railway.

Next Governor should know he can't settle for less.

Unlike Ogun Stare, that previous governor is always better than incumbent. They take leadership backwards in some states in Nigeria

Am currently at the venue.The organizer came with everything.They rent plenty gigantic generators.And the preparation is top notch.The teams and crews are lodge in 5 star hotels.They are well taken care of.lagos state really tried with this event .more international event will soon be gracing the country.
