For those of us saying this is not necessary.

Let me let us know that "no matter how bad things are even when we are praying, it will be worse if we stop praying"

Even in your own personal life, you with your prayer things are bad for you like this, maybe without prayer you would have been dead long ago.

"Men ought always to pray and not to faint"

He led a protest during Jonathan's time but is leading prayers today. All of a sudden, his mouth is silent.
When did Baba Adeboye lead a protest during Jonathan time? Biko, when?

I beg you don't bring a picture of Adeboye holding a small wooden "placard" and embarrass yourself!

Fact check things, it will save you a lot of personal embarrassment!

Although I am a devout Christian, I must say that religious leaders have done more harm than good to this country. They sell ordinary Nigerians false hope just so they don't revolt against their political friends.

Politicians and religious leaders are friends, but religious leaders don't call them to order. Only Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah makes efforts to challenge these politicians. God will never do for any man what He has given him the power and intellect to do for himself!
The moment you realise that politics and religion works in tandem, that will be your light bulb moment. It's not just a Nigeria phenomenon, it's worldwide. Religion bore politics and both are intertwined. Now, the moment you separate spirituality from religion will be your eye opening moment.

Praying for Nigeria is a waste of time. God does not answer prayers from people who are not sincere. Nigeria does not need prayers. Nigeria needs Nigerians to become sincere and do the right things to move the country forward.
Re: Adeboye To Lead Prayers For Nigeria by lokoloko84(m): 10:32am On Oct 04, 2025
Pray is good because I believe that God answers all prayer.
But sometimes,we need commonsense.
The solution to the madness in this country is to break her up or allow states or regions to control their resources and do whatever with their lives.
Anything, short of these two points is just delusions.
But I believe a leader will emerge who will do the needful.
It is just a matter of time.

People need to wake up.

Enough is enough.

The current spate of abuse inflicted on the masses is not sustainable.

The hope of God is not a false hope brother.
Hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shared abroad in our heart by the holy ghost. In the gate of Samaria a very bad economy turned into prosperity within 24hours just because a prophet said so. But the more important thing was that the person who did what you're doing didn't enjoy the good of the land.

The same thing you said was what the man said and he saw the blessing but didn't eat of it.

You said you're a Christian, the man also said yes I know there is God and said even if that God opens the window of heaven nothing will change. The same thing you just said even if the pastor pray for open heaven nothing will happen.

Lastly because you said you're a Christian and the bible said a Christian should not mock a Christian who committed error, that is why I want to give you this advice.
Stop talking against Christianity and it's leadership, the fathers have contributed a lot to the body of Christ and have sacrificed a lot for the body of Christ, they have done what non of your family members nor mine have done since the existence of your generation and possibly will not be achieved by you with this mentality. Rather you should strive to do something memorable for the body of Christ you claim to belong to. Please be wise don't divide but build.
Don't say words that is ridiculous, just think for one day to justify your post. What point did you make, what is wrong in calling a national prayer what is bad in praying for Nigeria

Who led prayers for the UAE, the US, Russia, China and the likes??! The other day, China's former agriculture minister, Tang Renjian, was sentenced to death for corruption. But here??

Pastor Adeboye is just wasting what's left of his days on this one! After the useless prayers, status quo continues!

I'm just ashamed for this country called Nigeria.
I swear useless prayers.

You may be a Christian but you do not understand Christianity. You are just a Christian based on association. Show me where our Lord Jesus Christ was seen fighting or speaking against the government of His days and the disciples after Him. When God call a man He gives them a vision and direction. You do not do things outside your vision.
Except he wants to do things outside of his office as pastor. If you say he is double standard based on how he protested under Jonathan and since then he did not protest under the other administration I could fault him for that. But to say a Pastor must be speaking against government that one is up to him not to anybody.
When you say religious leaders have done more harm than good I won't really accept that. Politicians are the real problem, the judiciary etc.
For him to declare prayer it's not alien to us.

1 Timothy 2:1-3 (MSG) The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation.
This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.

I am a member of rccg but I cannot pray with Adeboye on Nigeria. He is equally yoked with Tinubu. Very shameful. I once prayed with him on "evil men will.not rule over us" when evil came he embrased it and said Nigerias problem was spiritual. The man needs to exit the stage he has become a huge embarrassment to the Christian faith.

Those who need doctor should see their doctor, prosperity of any nation depends on logic and ideas, if prayers does not develop Israel, prayer will continue to keep Nigeria in one place, if you're not sick from head😀 you think prayer can replace logic, pls see your doctor to cure your brain issues

Why is he not leading protest as he did during Jonathan?
He maybe old to lead protest. But he has become govt spokesman explaining away the hardship. Not speaking to the hardness, the taxation the fuel cost. Pim baba no dey talk again. He doesn't even complain of exchange rate that he was complaining about.
Baba no dey even complain of the killing of christians in Nigeria na Trump dey talk for us.
Baba na tribalist and APC partner. He messed up the RCCG brand. May God have mercy on him for such massive mess up

Stop saying you are member of rccg

You are a disciple of Jesus Christ

Human beings change, the Bible has told us not to trust in flesh

Even some people left Jesus when he preached the hard truth
