Wellll, I know some people will want Lagos to be number one |

If Tinubu wants the LGAs to start receiving their allocations directly, create account for them that only them can access, not send them allocations through state government. That man loves politics more than development. |

CodeTemplarr:All states are not the same, please. We have seen repeatedly that LCDAs in Lagos receive allocations. That's why they have projects to commission. In other states, governors loot LGA allocations because there are no checks and balances. |
| Re: Rivers Tops Corruption Risk Rankings by richmond500: 12:46pm On Oct 04, 2025 |
When the governor cannot talk to the LGA chairmen and Judiciary cannot check the legislative, there is bound to be heavy corruption. Democracy is destroyed in Rivers state and anyone can do anyhow and run to Abuja for cover |
| Re: Rivers Tops Corruption Risk Rankings by pavoda: 1:42pm On Oct 04, 2025 |
By projects you mean all the Administrative Blocks and Memorial halls? Lets not joke with each other just to argue SmartPolician: |
| Re: Rivers Tops Corruption Risk Rankings by SmartPolician: 1:46pm On Oct 04, 2025 |
pavoda:https://www.nairaland.com/8483458/governor-sanwo-olu-commissions-school-built This is an example of project I mean. Meanwhile, states receive more allocations than LGAs. If LGAs were working, less emphasis will be on governors because every part of the state fall into one LGA or another.

| Re: Rivers Tops Corruption Risk Rankings by NonsenseRubbish: 9:53pm On Oct 08, 2025 |
This stats is very correct. But the question is do you know the kind of corruption already going on in the state?!! Very serious one.!!! It’s funny how the government, favored and unfavoured high interest holders/elites and the people have been try to shed light on this state. Nigerians still keep overlooking them. that state is the prime hub of Nigeria’s oil(and it’s in the eastern zone) wth 🤦♂️ |

| Re: Rivers Tops Corruption Risk Rankings by McLizbae: 9:56pm On Oct 08, 2025 |
Very agreeable! Rivers has been on a whole new level of corruption exhibition lately. From the Wike-nation of the 2023 election, to fubara-lization of the state assemble complex, to Ibas-city of revenue for 6 month coupled with the burning of facilities to conceal evidences. Rivers too do! |

COMRADES, I think the list is fair enough |
| Re: Rivers Tops Corruption Risk Rankings by MT: 10:37pm On Oct 08, 2025 |
We are past the era where some data would just be thrown at our face. How did they arrive at the ranking? How were they able to rank Local Governments which have been starved with funds? Just say the State Governors have usurped the power of the Chairmen and looted the funds belonging to the respective Local Government. That makes sense. |

Port Harcourt is not as bad as you guys envisaged. Local governments were active very well before the emergency administrator came In......the local governments were repairing roads and even installing solar power all over the streets....infact, Rivers was developing faster than Lagos before the sole administrator came to interrupt and sincerely, the Governor too became petty and started getting distracted. However, now that the governor has come back, things have started picking up gradually again in Rivers..... Government, both LGS and Governor in Rivers respond faster to people's needs in Rivers than the local governments and the Governor of Lagos responds to Lagosians. richmond500: |

Mathewrichard99:You are not saying the truth. Rivers State earned this notoriety with the thieves Fubara selected as LGA Chairmen. They are the worst set of people to have led the LGA. Presently even when they themselves were also selected all the present LGA Chairman are all educated with the least if them having at least a master degree. Check also the corruption rating when Wike was there. Rivers State was a shining example then. |

First, I thought of how they arrived at this statistics. Later, I thought of news heard from each state and it makes sense to say the list is almost a true reflection of corrupt practices from the states in the country. Though, ogun should be in top 5 because the most pathetic and useless governor in Nigeria (Eleyi one of awon werey) still govern the state. |

SmartPolician:When did Lagos LCDAs start getting allocations from the federation account when they are not part of the 774 LGAs in the 1999 constitution that has been amended five times in the last 26 years? Why are you limiting local (and even state and federal) government functions to projects? Are they not supposed to also recruit and retain well paid civil servants to provide services and utilities like free education for all children and water supply to all households ![]() fergie001:>>> >>> Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner September 4, 2022 The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22. I would have been surprised if Rivers State is not the top, or how can you justify a state where almost all the civil servants have their children in very expensive private schools. |

There's an error in the aggregation, Delta State is supposed to be second on the computation with 91 points. Please check properly, reevaluate and make necessary arrangements and corrections. |
